What You'll Do:
Be the Sleep Expert
Conduct standard and advanced diagnostic and therapeutic sleep studies while adhering to department policies, clinical standards, and best practices.
You'll utilize specialized equipment and procedures, including:

Electroencephalograms (EEG)
-
Electrooculograms (EOG)
-
Electromyograms (EMG)
-
Respiratory effort monitoring
-
Airflow analysis
-
Oximetry
-
End-tidal monitoring
-
PAP device monitoring and therapy
Create a Great Patient Experience:
From the moment patients arrive, you'll help them feel comfortable and informed.

Verify patient identity and medical history
-
Clearly explain procedures and answer questions
-
Provide compassionate care to patients and families
-
Support patients from infancy through adulthood
Capture Accurate, High-Quality Data:
Your attention to detail makes a difference.

Monitor studies in real time
-
Identify and resolve technical artifacts
-
Troubleshoot equipment issues quickly and effectively
-
Ensure accurate, reliable recordings for physician interpretation
Champion Safety and Excellence:
-
Maintain, clean, and inspect equipment
-
Apply universal precautions and isolation protocols
-
Assist with patient movement and transfers safely
-
Collaborate with technical support and leadership when needed
Continue Growing Your Expertise:
We believe learning never sleeps.

Earn at least 10 sleep-related CEUs annually
-
Participate in education, training, in-services, and professional development opportunities
-
Stay current on emerging sleep technology and industry best practices
What We're Looking For:
Education & Experience
-
Graduate of a CAAHEP Polysomnography Program OR
-
Minimum of 6 months of experience in sleep medicine or respiratory procedures
Licenses & Certifications
One of the following is required:
-
Current Louisiana licensure as a Registered Polysomnography Technologist (LSBME)
-
Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) through BRPT
-
Registered Sleep Technologist credential through the American Board of Sleep Medicine
OR
-
Current Louisiana Respiratory Therapist license (CRT or RRT) with commitment to obtain sleep disorder certification within 6 months of hire
Additionally:

Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
