Job description:

Medical front office/admin in a specialty Dermatology private practice. Practice has been in New Smyrna Beach for 39 years. Must have Medical experience. Please do not apply if you have no medical experience. Thank you.

Duties include:

Answering phones, scheduling appointments, taking messages
checking patients in and out, taking payments
posting payments, insurance verification
pulling and filing charts
faxing, posting lab results
quoting patients for procedures
Insurance prior authorizations

General aspects:

· Full time position, average of 40 hours per week. (possibly more during the training period)

· Monday through Thursday 8:00am-6:00pm (Friday’s off except rarely if training is needed.)

· This is a very busy and faced-pace office. Excellent multitasking skills are essential.

Davis Dermatology has only one location. No traveling needed!

Salary and Benefits:

· Hourly salary up to 40 hours per week. Occasional overtime is needed during training including an occasional Friday.

· 2 weeks paid vacation. Not eligible until employed for 6 months. 6 paid holidays, not eligible until employed for 3 months. Employees may only take time off when the health care providers, the doctor or the physician assistant, is on vacation. The reason is that this is a small practice with only four nurses and medical assistants to perform all the daily duties.

· 65% of monthly health insurance premium, up to $300.00 per month.

· 401K retirement plan Begins after the second year of employment

· 3 month probationary period.

In the role of Medical Front Office, you will be essential in providing administrative support and ensuring a smooth patient experience. Reporting to the Office Manager, you will utilize your core skills in medical office operations, patient service, and clerical tasks to manage front desk activities effectively. Your premium knowledge of EMR systems and medical terminology will enhance patient interactions and streamline processes. Additionally, your relevant skills in customer service and health information management will contribute to the overall efficiency and professionalism of our healthcare facility. Join us in delivering exceptional patient care and administrative excellence.

Qualifications

Proven experience in medical administrative support and front desk operations
Proficient in medical records management and patient service
Strong computer skills, including familiarity with EMR systems like Epic and Meditech
Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and medical terminology
Excellent clerical and office experience, including filing and multi-line phone systems
Customer service-oriented with a background in health information management

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour
