Overview
Join our dedicated healthcare team as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) / Medication Technician, where your compassionate care and attention to detail will make a meaningful difference in the lives of our residents. This dynamic role combines hands-on patient care with medication administration, ensuring safety, comfort, and well-being for individuals across various care settings. You’ll work in a vibrant environment that values your skills, promotes professional growth, and emphasizes delivering exceptional patient-centered services.

Duties

Provide direct patient care by assisting with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, feeding, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts.
Administer prescribed medications accurately following all safety protocols and document each administration in electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic or Cerner.
Monitor vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature; report any abnormalities promptly to the nursing team.
Support patients with specialized needs including dementia care, Alzheimer's care, memory care, behavioral health challenges, and working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
Assist with medical procedures such as catheter care, phlebotomy (blood draws), and aseptic techniques to maintain infection control standards.
Maintain detailed and accurate medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations and facility policies.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams in various settings including long-term care facilities, assisted living communities, hospitals (ICU, emergency medicine, Level I Trauma Center), and outpatient clinics to ensure comprehensive patient care.

Requirements

Valid CNA certification and current medication technician license or ability to obtain one as required by state law.
Experience working in diverse healthcare environments such as hospitals (including ICU or trauma centers), nursing homes, assisted living facilities, or home & community care.
Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems like Epic, Cerner, eClinicalWorks or similar platforms for medical documentation.
Knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and infection control practices including aseptic technique.
Prior experience administering medications and performing vital signs monitoring is highly preferred.
Ability to work effectively with patients across all age groups including pediatrics and seniors; experience with behavioral health or dementia care is a plus.
Strong communication skills and a compassionate approach to caregiving; ability to work independently and as part of a team in fast-paced settings such as urgent care or post-acute environments.
