Azteca Milling LP, the producer of MASECA, is a division of Gruma Corporation. With over 60 years of experience Gruma is the world's largest producer of corn masa flour. Azteca Milling L.P. has an immediate opening for a Corn Conservation Technician at it's Manufacturing Facility in Henderson, KY Facility.
First Shift
Responsible for all grain conservation practices both within the Azteca Milling LP silos as well as the producers’ silos.
Responsible to understand own role in the Food Safety Management System by awareness of the importance and relevancy of their activities and to report food safety and quality problems to personnel with authority to initiate action.
Essential Duties: These duties directly and substantially serve to achieve the purpose of the position.
Check and sample all external and internal grain storage silos when the Corn Manager, Corn Buyer, as they need them.
Assist Corn Manager, Corn Buyer and Farmers with the Test Plot.
Assist the farmers with their grain storage silos when they need them.
Ensure that quality preservation procedures are properly followed by monitoring temperature, measurement, inspection and cleaning of Azteca Milling, silos every 2 weeks.
When a silo is emptied, the Corn Plant Supervisor or Corn Manager will notify you. You are then responsible for performing all required cleaning and preservation procedures. Once cleaning is complete, notify your supervisor for a visual inspection.
Every day assist all corn operation employees to maintain a clean and orderly the whole facility. In some cases, your supervisor will designate a specific area.
Assist the Corn Lab Department with receiving and testing incoming trucks as requested by your supervisor.
Forklift and Trucks operation.
Responsible for keeping the laboratory and assigned company vehicle clean, organized, and in good working condition after use. This includes routine cleaning, proper disposal of waste, and ensuring that all equipment and surfaces meet hygiene and safety standards.
Load and collect the samples on Cracks and Hominy by-products in customer trucks and clean the area after you finish.
Provide support to the company with deliveries or any courier services. (FedEx, Gas, Samples, etc.)
Miscellaneous duties requested by your supervisor or manager.
Ensure the greatest possible plant efficiency by working with the corn operations and maintenance personnel to implement cost effective and repair programs

To know and apply Environmental Policy principles while maintaining awareness of related activities and contribute to the program’s successful performance and compliance.
To perform all activities and avoid creating significant environmental impacts by following guidelines established in the Environmental Management Systems documents.
Understand and apply the Environmental Management system documents applicable to my role, with an awareness of the relevance and importance of my activities to achieve EMS objective, including environmental protection and compliance with applicable legal requirements.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS REQUIRED
1. Fluent in English.
2. High school degree or GED (BS degree preferred in Agriculture)
3. Ability to pass all State & Federal Tests & requirements as necessary for pesticide handling &/or application, as necessary.
4. Ability to work at elevated heights, confined spaces, and other adverse conditions.
5. Ability to learn and follow company Safety procedures and policies.
