Full Job Description

Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity as an Occupational Therapist providing vital support to elementary-aged students. This unique role involves working with two seven-year-old children, delivering individualized therapy and interventions directly within a school environment near Shiprock, NM. Your expertise will make an immediate and ongoing impact, fostering independence, participation, and progress for these young learners.

In this contract role, you’ll provide one to two hours of services per week (including indirect time and documentation) from early August through mid-May. Your flexibility and clinical skills in both educational and healthcare settings are highly valued as you contribute to a smooth and effective therapy process.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

Active licensure as an Occupational Therapist (OT)
Experience in school-based OT, pediatric care, home health, or healthcare environments
Comfort with indirect service time, documentation, and collaboration with school staff and families
Familiarity with individualized educational goals and special education best practices
Reliable, organized, and adaptable to a flexible, low-hour weekly schedule

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver 30 minutes of direct OT services weekly to each student, focusing on fine motor, sensory processing, and functional skill development
Conduct assessments and provide input for student IEPs as needed
Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and families for holistic student progress
Perform timely documentation and communication regarding student performance
Participate sensitively and proactively in a school-based therapeutic environment
