Full Job Description

Level 1 Technician (Remote/Hybrid)

Northeast IT Systems, Inc. is a Managed IT Services Provider (MSP) seeking a full-time Level 1 Technician to join our growing team. This position is primarily remote (work from home) with occasional onsite support required throughout Southeastern Connecticut. The ideal candidate will reside in Glastonbury, Colchester, Norwich, or surrounding areas. This position requires previous corporate IT support or MSP experience, and ability to install network hardware and devices independently.

Primary Responsibilities
· Provide Level 1 helpdesk support to 2-5 core regional and national managed services clients.
· Respond to support requests via phone, email, and ticketing systems.
· Perform password resets and user account administration.
· Troubleshoot and resolve basic VPN connectivity issues.
· Diagnose and support printers and peripheral devices.
· Install, configure, and support end-user software applications.
· Perform basic installation, replacement, and troubleshooting of workstation, printer, and network hardware at client locations.
· Assist with the installation and physical deployment of network equipment, including switches, wireless access points, firewalls, racks, patch panels, and cabling, under the direction of senior technical staff.
· Verify connectivity and functionality of newly installed equipment and document all work performed.
· Resolve issues within the scope of Tier 1 support responsibilities and escalate issues as directed.
· Accurately document support activities, resolutions, and time entries.
· Attend occasional training sessions at corporate headquarters

Hours:

· 6AM-2:30PM or 11:30AM-8PM
· Participation in a monthly virtual company meeting held from 8:00 AM to 9:00 AM EST is required.

Work Location & Travel Expectations

· Approximately 80% remote (work-from-home).
· Approximately 20% onsite support at client locations throughout Southeastern Connecticut.
· Must be available to travel to client sites during business hours as assigned.
· Occasional emergency after-hours support may be required.
· Attendance at occasional company-sponsored meetings and training sessions may be required.

Tools & Equipment Requirements
· Employee must maintain and provide their own basic technician toolkit suitable for onsite support activities.
· Company-specific or specialized equipment required for particular projects will be provided as necessary.
· Familiarity with basic network equipment installation, structured cabling practices, patch panel connectivity, and basic connectivity testing is required.

Vehicle, Driving & Insurance Requirements
· Maintain a valid driver's license.
· Maintain an acceptable driving record.
· Maintain reliable personal transportation.
· Personal transportation must be reliable, roadworthy, properly registered and insured, and maintained in a condition suitable for professional business use. The vehicle must be capable of safely and reliably transporting technician tools, computer equipment, peripherals, and other materials reasonably required for onsite support activities.
· Maintain continuous automobile insurance coverage.
· Provide proof of insurance upon request.
· Immediately notify the company of any license suspension, DUI/OUI, major driving violations, or lapse in insurance coverage.
· Consent to periodic Motor Vehicle Record reviews as permitted by law.

Compensation

· $55,000 - $65,000 annually, commensurate with experience. Compensation based on technical experience, certifications, MSP experience, and demonstrated ability. Mileage and approved travel expenses reimbursed per company policy.
