Full Job Description

Job Summary
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Criminal Defense Paralegal/Case Manager to join our dynamic legal team. In this role, you will provide essential support across a variety of legal practice areas, including estate planning, environmental law, immigration law, family law, securities law, tribal law & regulations, patent law, workers' compensation law, personal injury law, landlord-tenant law, and litigation. Your primary responsibility will be managing cases efficiently through comprehensive legal research, document review, and case management while ensuring accuracy and compliance. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your legal expertise in a fast-paced environment dedicated to delivering exceptional client service.

Responsibilities

Assist attorneys with case preparation by conducting legal research using Westlaw, LexisNexis, and other legal research tools.
Manage case files through document management systems such as iManage and PCLaw, ensuring all documentation is organized and up-to-date.
E-File documents through Odyessy, Ez-fillings, and Peachcourt.
Draft, review, and proofread legal documents including contracts, pleadings, correspondence, and reports with precision.
Conduct interviews with clients and witnesses to gather pertinent case information while maintaining professional phone etiquette.
Support project management tasks by coordinating deadlines, scheduling meetings, and tracking case progress across multiple practice areas.
Perform data entry and filing duties to ensure accurate record-keeping in compliance with firm policies.
Assist with administrative tasks such as transcription, proofreading, and managing incoming correspondence to streamline office operations.
Conduct legal research on specialized topics such as UCC law (Uniform Commercial Code), land use regulations, or tribal laws to support ongoing cases.
Provide executive administrative support as needed to attorneys and senior staff to facilitate smooth workflow.

Requirements

Proven paralegal experience or equivalent legal administrative experience within a law office setting.
Strong knowledge of diverse practice areas including estate planning, environmental law, immigration law, family law, securities law, workers' compensation law, personal injury law, landlord-tenant law, litigation, patent law, and tribal regulations.
Proficiency in legal research platforms such as Westlaw and LexisNexis.
Experience with case management software like iManage and PCLaw for effective document handling.
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously under tight deadlines.
Exceptional writing skills for drafting legal documents and correspondence clearly and accurately.
Strong proofreading abilities to ensure error-free documentation.
Effective interviewing skills for client interactions that require professionalism and confidentiality.
Familiarity with legal document review processes and contract drafting standards.
Ability to perform data entry accurately while maintaining attention to detail in filing systems.
Excellent phone etiquette combined with organizational skills necessary for administrative support roles.
