Full Job Description

Are you looking for a career that blends your love of the outdoors with meaningful environmental impact? PRF is actively hiring multiple Consulting Utility Foresters to support utility vegetation management and tree risk assessment projects throughout North and South Carolina. In this role, you’ll work outside daily, directly improving public safety, service reliability, and community resilience.

What You’ll Do:

Perform field-based forestry work along utility rights-of-way
Identify, mark, and document hazard trees and vegetation risks
Use GIS, GPS units, iPads, and mobile software to collect and manage data
Travel up to 25% throughout a 4 day week (10 hour days)

What You’ll Need:

Must be at least 18 years old
Valid driver’s license
Associate degree in Forestry, Natural Resources, or a related field (Bachelor’s preferred)
Field experience in forestry, vegetation management, or utility arboriculture (preferred)
Familiarity with GIS mapping, GPS devices, and Microsoft Office Suite
Ability to work independently and stay motivated in outdoor environments
Strong communication and problem-solving skills

Preferred Certifications (Boosts Pay):

ISA Certified Arborist
ISA Utility Specialist
TRAQ, CTSP, or other forestry-related licenses
