Overview
Join our dynamic manufacturing team as a CNC Setup & Operator (Lathe, Swiss or Milling) where you'll play a vital role in producing high-precision components using advanced Swiss-style CNC machines. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with state-of-the-art equipment, develop your technical skills, and contribute to innovative manufacturing solutions. As a CNC Swiss Operator, you'll be responsible for setting up, programming, and operating CNC lathe machines with Swiss-style tooling to ensure the highest quality standards are met. Your expertise will directly impact our ability to deliver precision parts efficiently and reliably.

Responsibilities

Set up and operate CNC Swiss lathes, including programming and adjusting machine parameters to produce complex parts with tight tolerances.
Interpret detailed blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) specifications to ensure accurate machining processes.
Utilize CAD (Computer-Aided Design) and CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) software, such as SolidWorks and other tools, for toolpath generation and machine programming.
Conduct precision measurements using calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and other precision instruments to verify part dimensions.
Perform routine maintenance on CNC equipment, including electrical discharge machining (EDM) tools and tooling setups, ensuring optimal machine performance.
Follow lean manufacturing principles to optimize workflow, reduce waste, and improve efficiency across machining processes.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to safety protocols related to hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and forklift operation when necessary.

Qualifications

Proven experience operating CNC Lathe, Swiss or Milling machines with Fanuc controls or equivalent systems.
Strong knowledge of CNC programming, including G-code editing and troubleshooting machine issues.
Familiarity with GD&T standards for precise measurement and quality control of machined parts.
Mechanical aptitude with understanding of tooling setups, fixture design, and basic math skills for calculations related to machining operations.
Ability to read blueprints accurately and interpret technical drawings for complex components.
Experience with electrical discharge machining (EDM), plastics injection molding processes, or welding is a plus.
Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM).
Knowledge of lean manufacturing practices to promote continuous improvement in production workflows.
Valid certification or experience operating forklifts; familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and assembly techniques is advantageous.
