Paralegal / Legal Assistant

Transactional Law Firm – Estate Planning, Small Business, & Tax

Salary: $50,000-$62,500 DOE

We are a small, collaborative law firm focused on transactional work, with an emphasis on estate planning and administration, small business representation, and tax matters. We are seeking a legal assistant or law firm operations specialist with prior law firm experience who is organized, detail-oriented, and genuinely enjoys supporting attorneys and clients in meaningful, people-centered legal work. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a professional but relaxed environment where precision and quality matter, but how we treat clients and each other matters just as much.

Key Responsibilities

Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, including scheduling, follow-ups, and general case communication
Prepare, format, organize, and manage legal documents related to estate planning, probate/administration, business matters, and tax filings
Maintain accurate and complete electronic files using legal practice management software
Perform data entry and ensure consistency and accuracy across client records and documents
Support attorneys with drafting, proofreading, and filing documents
Track deadlines, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple matters simultaneously
Coordinate with outside professionals (accountants, financial advisors, courts, agencies) as needed

Required Qualifications

Prior experience working in a law firm (paralegal or legal assistant role)
Demonstrated experience with client management and professional client communication
Familiarity with legal practice management software and document management systems
Strong data entry skills with a high degree of accuracy
Proven ability to work closely with attorneys and anticipate support needs
Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize competing deadlines
Exceptional attention to detail

Preferred (But Not Required)

Experience in estate planning, estate administration, small business law, or tax
Paralegal certificate or equivalent professional experience
Comfort working in a small office where responsibilities are shared and initiative is valued
