Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON)

St. Joseph's Rehabilitation & Care Center | Norfolk, NE

Pay: $93,000 to $104,000/year
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
On-Call: Every Third Weekend

What You'll Do

As our ADON, you'll work alongside the Director of Nursing to support clinical operations, develop our nursing team, and promote excellent resident outcomes.

Your responsibilities will include:

Help lead the day-to-day operations of the Nursing Department
Coach, mentor, and support RNs, LPNs, and CNAs
Assist with staffing, scheduling, onboarding, and retention
Support admissions, discharges, and resident care coordination
Monitor clinical documentation, medication administration, and nursing practices
Help maintain survey readiness and regulatory compliance
Participate in QAPI and clinical improvement initiatives
Assist with staff education, competencies, and in-service training
Partner with physicians, nursing leaders, and interdisciplinary team members
Step in to provide clinical support when needed
Help build a positive, accountable nursing culture where employees can do their best work

What We're Looking For

Required:

Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Nebraska or compact-state eligibility
Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
Ability to lead and support a nursing team
Commitment to quality resident care

Preferred, but not required:

Skilled nursing or long-term care experience
Charge nurse, unit manager, supervisor, ADON, or other nursing leadership experience
Familiarity with state and federal long-term care regulations

You Don't Need to Already Be an ADON
