Human Resources Coordinator
Lagrange, OH
$54,000-$56,000

We have an exciting opportunity for a Human Resources Coordinator! This role will be reporting to the Deputy Human Resources Officer and will be responsible for managing and coordinating the employment process for placement of qualified candidates for a variety of positions.

Responsibilities:

Assist with the recruitment, selection, and placement of candidates for hourly and salaried positions, including processing employment forms and documentation, maintaining employment records, and ensuring compliance with position posting procedures outlined in the organization's collective bargaining agreements.
Manage the organization's Applicant Tracking System (ATS) and provide technical support to hiring managers and employees.
Assist hiring managers with job postings in the ATS, external advertising, and compliance with union contract requirements.
Train and support hiring managers and staff on submitting job requisitions and navigating the online hiring process within the ATS.
Coordinate the end-to-end recruitment and hiring workflow through the ATS.
Manage focused and targeted recruitment initiatives, including sourcing strategies and employee referral programs, to address underrepresentation of protected class members as identified through recruitment data.
Represent Human Resources by maintaining partnerships with external organizations, including civic, social, professional, and community agencies, to identify qualified candidates for employment opportunities.

Serve as the primary point of contact for newly hired organization employees, assisting with completion of required employment documentation and onboarding activities within the ATS, including visa-related documentation in partnership with outside immigration counsel.
Act as liaison between incoming international employees, hiring managers, and the organization's immigration attorney to ensure appropriate visa status is obtained, required documentation is completed, and visa expiration dates are proactively monitored.
Generate appointment letters and Terms and Conditions of Employment offers.

Assist Human Resources in maintaining compliance with Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) regulations and provide guidance regarding the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and accessibility requirements throughout the hiring process.
Explain employment policies, procedures, applicable employment laws, and collective bargaining agreements to departments, employees, and applicants.
Coordinate employment testing for unionized positions, including scheduling, administration, scoring, and candidate selection processes.
Manage background checks and reference checks for all new hires and communicate results to hiring departments.

Recruit, hire, and manage a temporary administrative employee pool by utilizing direct recruitment efforts and staffing agencies. Evaluate applications, conduct interviews, administer assessments as needed, and recommend qualified candidates to departments.
Support the Manager of Employee and Labor Relations with recruitment activities for collective bargaining unit vacancies, including attending labor-management meetings, documenting meeting minutes, providing hiring updates, communicating with union leadership regarding position postings, and tracking vacancies by union group.
Coordinate the reclassification process for collective bargaining unit positions by conducting employee interviews and facilitating required documentation.
Process monthly seniority increases for employees covered by collective bargaining agreements.

Communicate with applicants and employees to ensure timely exchange of information and resolve questions related to employment, employee relations, compensation, benefits, and other human resources matters.
Coordinate the annual employee service awards program and other employee recognition initiatives.
Assist with administration of the organization's performance management platform.
Perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; an additional year of directly related experience may be substituted for each year of the education requirement.
One to two years of human resources experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification is preferred.
