Job Title: Freelance Bookkeeper / Part-Time Accounting Contractor

Pay: $20–$50/hr depending on experience — Paid weekly

About BenjaminBoxes

BenjaminBoxes is a fast-growing box truck dealership, repair shop, and business formation company based in Tuscaloosa, AL. Our parent company BenInvested LLC oversees multiple business entities and is actively expanding to additional states. We are looking for a reliable freelance bookkeeper to handle our books on an ongoing contract basis. This is consistent recurring work — not a one-time project.

About the Role

We need a freelance bookkeeper who can take ownership of our financial records on a weekly and monthly basis. This is a consistent gig — same work, same schedule, every week. You will handle our QuickBooks, reconcile our accounts, track receivables, and give ownership a clean financial picture every Monday morning. You work on your own schedule as long as the deliverables are hit on time. If you are a freelance bookkeeper looking for a reliable anchor client with consistent volume — this is it.

What the Work Looks Like Week to Week

Weekly — Due Every Monday Morning:

Reconcile all transactions from the prior week — bank accounts, credit cards, Zelle, Cash App
Record all income — truck sales, authority packages, shop services, dispatch fees
Record and categorize all expenses — parts, payroll, vendor payments, overhead
Track all active seller finance payments received — flag any late or missed payments
Submit a one-page weekly financial summary to ownership — cash on hand, revenue in, expenses out, outstanding receivables

Monthly — Due by the 5th of Each Month:

Full bank and credit card reconciliation
Profit and loss statement
Balance sheet
Accounts receivable aging report — who owes what and how long it has been outstanding
Accounts payable summary — what is due and when

As Needed:

Process weekly payroll for employees and contractors
Prepare 1099s for contractors at year end
Coordinate with CPA at tax time
Flag any unusual transactions or discrepancies to ownership immediately

What We're Looking For

Minimum 2 years of bookkeeping experience — small business or multi-entity experience preferred
QuickBooks Online proficiency — this is non-negotiable
Experience reconciling non-traditional payment platforms — Zelle, Cash App, PayPal Business
Reliable — deliverables are due on time every week without being chased
Detail oriented — you catch errors before ownership does
Discreet — full confidentiality with all financial information is required
Experience with trucking, dealership, or service business is a strong plus
Comfortable working remotely and communicating via text or email
Available for occasional in-person meetings in Tuscaloosa when needed
