Basic Function: Provide clinical care to patients in the pre-hospital environment and complete associated documentation

Qualifications:

An open and willing attitude. One who is receptive to assistance, suggestions, assigned projects, and who understands the importance of community relations and high morale among staff
Self-starting, goal-oriented individual with ability to set a high standard and deliver on it
A willingness to share the importance of a positive attitude other staff
Valid and current State of Connecticut Drivers License
Valid and current Emergency Medical Technician - Paramedic Certification
Valid and current ACLS and PALS (or ALS PEPP) certification
Must pass sponsor hospital protocol test upon hiring
Physical ability required for the lifting and moving of patients, equipment and other tasks inherent in the job of field paramedic

Duties:

Provide clinical care in the pre-hospital environment
Post and respond as required/directed
Complete thorough clinical documentation of a high quality
Complete thorough and accurate billing documentation
Conduct themselves in a manner that is compliant with all relevant regulations, statutes ordinances and laws
Conduct themselves in respectful, professional manner that is representative of high moral standing and character in all dealings with the public and other staff
Ensure the proper working order of their equipment and vehicle and report failures promptly
Perform any other duties as assigned
Abide by VEMS Code of Ethics
