Full Job Description

Position Summary

We are seeking a COMSEC / Technical Security Specialist to support federal security operations in a dynamic mission environment. The successful candidate will support communications security (COMSEC), technical security, information protection, and related security programs. This role is responsible for helping maintain compliance with security requirements, safeguarding sensitive information and assets, and supporting day-to-day security operations.

Key Responsibilities

Support communications security (COMSEC) and technical security program activities.
Maintain accountability and control of security-related equipment, materials, records, and documentation.
Assist with inventories, audits, inspections, and compliance reviews.
Support implementation and execution of security policies, procedures, and program requirements.
Coordinate with customers, stakeholders, and government personnel regarding security-related activities.
Prepare reports, correspondence, and program documentation.
Support information security, operational security, and related technical security initiatives.
Assist with training, awareness, and security program administration.
Participate in assessments, reviews, and continuous improvement efforts.
Perform additional duties as assigned in support of security operations.

Required Qualifications

Experience supporting communications security, technical security, information security, physical security, industrial security, or related security disciplines.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience supporting federal government security programs.
Experience with Communications Security (COMSEC), Technical Security, TEMPEST, Operations Security (OPSEC), or related security disciplines.
Familiarity with TACLANE devices, secure communications systems, cryptographic key management, or related communications security activities.
Experience supporting security inspections, assessments, audits, or compliance programs.
Familiarity with security databases, tracking systems, and records management processes.
Knowledge of government security policies, procedures, and security program requirements.

Education

Associate's degree or Bachelor's degree in security, criminal justice, information technology, engineering, telecommunications, business, or a related field preferred.
Equivalent education, training, and experience may be substituted.

Experience

Three (3) or more years of relevant security-related experience preferred.
Experience supporting classified or controlled environments is a plus.

Clearance Requirements

Active DOE Q Clearance, Top Secret Clearance, or the ability to obtain and maintain required government security credentials.
