Medina Dogs Training is a proud balanced dog training company. We believe in real training that produces real results for dogs and their families. Our team uses all four quadrants of operant conditioning and tools such as food, play, slip leads, prong collars, and low-stimulation e-collars. Applicants must be comfortable using balanced training methods, including food rewards, leash pressure, prong collars, and low-stimulation e-collars when appropriate.

Services Offered
- Puppy Board & Train
- Adolescent / Adult On-Leash Board & Train
- Adolescent / Adult Off-Leash Board & Train
- Behavior Modification Board & Train, if qualified
- Board & Train Refresh programs
- Boarding (previous clients only)
Responsibilities
- Run board-and-train programs out of your home environment.
- Educate owners during and after programs; provide excellent client communication.
- Monitor dog progress, adjust training strategies, and maintain training records.
- Transport dogs safely for public training and graduation sessions.
- Manage basic kennel tasks and provide structured daily routines.
Requirements
- Ability to host and train dogs in your home (garage/yard space preferred).
- Reliable transportation and liability insurance (contractor role).
- Comfortable handling large and small dogs.
- Working computer for client updates/virtual sessions.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of professional dog training experience
- Experience with balanced training methods, including prong collars and e-collars
- Experience with board-and-train programs strongly preferred
- Trainers with behavior modification experience are encouraged to apply
Schedule
- Flexible: You choose your availability.
- We work with you to prevent burnout and allow time off as needed.
Compensation
- 40% of program revenue
- 5% for evaluations that result in bookings
- Typical monthly earnings: $4,000 – $11,000 depending on caseload
- Paid at program milestones as a 1099 Independent Contractor

Locations
Currently hiring trainers in Oakland and surrounding East Bay communities, including Berkeley, Alameda, San Leandro, Hayward, Castro Valley, San Lorenzo, Richmond, El Cerrito, and neighboring areas.
Applicants should be located within reasonable driving distance of the East Bay and be comfortable traveling throughout the region for evaluations, public training sessions, and client graduations.
