- Class One: 12:50–1:50 PM
- Equipment Reset: 1:50–2:00 PM
- Class Two: 2:00–3:00 PM
This opening covers both Thursday classes. Applicants must be consistently available for both class times.
The first semester begins September 10, 2026, and continues through January 21, 2027, for a total of 16 classes. The second semester begins January 28 and continues through the end of the school-year calendar. Cannettic Energy follows the San Marcos school calendar, including scheduled school closures and federal holidays.
Cannettic Energy is looking for an experienced, energetic, and dependable Recreational Gymnastics Coach to lead two small-group classes for students in kindergarten through sixth grade.
Each class is capped at 10 students, allowing the coach to provide meaningful individual instruction, encouragement, and safe skill progressions.
Classes are held inside a multipurpose room equipped with a variety of fun gymnastics equipment. The room becomes our own CEnergy mini gym where students can tumble, balance, build strength, try new skills, and have an amazing time!
This is a recreational, confidence-building program—not a competitive team environment. Our goal is to help students develop gymnastics fundamentals while building coordination, courage, perseverance, body awareness, friendships, and a lifelong love of movement.
Classes may include:

Cardio warm-ups and movement games
- Dynamic stretching and flexibility
- Strength and body-conditioning exercises
- Forward and backward rolls
- Handstands and headstands
- Cartwheels and round-offs
- Bridges, kick-overs, and walkover progressions
- Balance-beam activities
- Bar fundamentals
- Air-track and floor-tumbling stations
- Springboard, vault, and trampoline fundamentals
- Obstacle courses and creative gymnastics challenges
- Age-appropriate floor combinations
- Teamwork and confidence-building activities
Skills must always be taught using safe, progressive instruction based on each student’s age, experience, ability, and readiness.
Time management is a major responsibility of this position.
The coach must:

Account for traffic, parking, and campus navigation
- Arrive on-site prepared and ready to clock in at the scheduled start time
- Begin each class promptly
- Complete roll call and verify every student’s attendance
- Keep lessons moving according to the planned class structure
- End each class on time
- Reset and organize equipment after the first class
- Return prepared and ready to begin the second class promptly at 3:00 PM
- Complete dismissal responsibilities on schedule
- Properly put away and organize all equipment after the final class
- Accurately clock in and out through our app platform
- Immediately communicate any emergency or unavoidable delay
Consistent late arrivals, incomplete roll call, missed time punches, or equipment being left out create safety and administrative concerns. We are looking for a coach who takes ownership of these responsibilities every Thursday.
- Develop organized and age-appropriate lesson plans for both one-hour classes
- Include clear skill goals, warm-ups, equipment setup, stations, progressions, and cool-downs
- Arrive with the lesson plan fully prepared before class begins
- Lead safe, structured, energetic, and encouraging recreational gymnastics instruction
- Teach proper technique, body positioning, safety habits, and gymnastics terminology
- Demonstrate skills clearly before students begin
- Use safe progressions and appropriate spotting techniques within your training and experience
- Adapt activities for students with different ages, abilities, confidence levels, and gymnastics experience
- Support beginners while providing appropriate challenges for experienced students
- Maintain positive classroom management for up to 10 students
- Establish a consistent attention cue and clear expectations for behavior and equipment use
- Keep instructions concise and confirm that students understand each station
- Actively circulate and provide every student with coaching, encouragement, and specific feedback
- Keep students safely engaged instead of waiting in long lines
- Take accurate roll call at the beginning of every class
- Confirm that every student present is listed on the official roster
- Never allow an unregistered student to participate without authorization
- Maintain active supervision throughout class, transitions, and dismissal
- Inspect equipment before use and immediately report damage or safety concerns
- Safely set up, reset, clean, organize, and put away all gymnastics equipment
- Return the multipurpose room to the required condition after class
- Follow all site procedures for student check-in, dismissal, and authorized pick-up
- Communicate professionally with students, families, site staff, and the Cannettic Energy team
- Share brief updates about the skills students are learning and accomplishing
- Immediately report injuries, behavioral concerns, damaged equipment, or operational issues
- Accurately clock in and out through our app platform during the assigned time block
- Complete all required duties while clocked in and follow the assigned schedule for setup and cleanup
- A minimum of one year of gymnastics coaching experience
- Approximately 1–3 years or more of experience coaching elementary-aged students is strongly preferred
- Experience teaching recreational gymnastics, tumbling, acrobatics, or related movement skills
- Knowledge of beginner and intermediate gymnastics progressions
- Experience safely demonstrating, teaching, and spotting age-appropriate skills
- Strong understanding of gymnastics and equipment safety
- Ability to create structured, progressive, and engaging lesson plans
- Strong classroom-management, communication, organization, and time-management skills
- Confident independently managing up to 10 elementary-aged students
- Patient and able to support students who need repeated instruction
- Energetic, encouraging, dependable, self-motivated, and professional
- Comfortable setting up equipment and remaining physically active throughout both classes
- Able to demonstrate movements and assist students within the physical requirements of the position
- Reliable transportation to the San Marcos location
- Consistent Thursday availability beginning September 10, 2026
A college degree is not required if the applicant can demonstrate strong gymnastics knowledge, safe coaching practices, professional experience, and the ability to successfully lead an elementary-aged class.
Experience with recreational gymnastics programs, gymnastics studios, after-school enrichment, homeschool programs, youth camps, or community recreation programs is preferred.
CPR/First Aid certification and gymnastics safety or coaching certifications are preferred.
Employment is contingent upon completing the required site-specific Live Scan fingerprint and background clearance after receiving a conditional offer and before working with students.

The selected coach is responsible for paying the Live Scan fee.
- The current estimated cost is approximately $75 for each required location or requesting agency.
- A Live Scan completed for another employer or school may not satisfy this requirement because fingerprint results generally cannot be transferred between requesting agencies.
- Coaches who accept opportunities at additional locations may be required to complete and pay for another site-specific Live Scan.
Applicants must also complete all required safety training and program onboarding before beginning work.
Cannettic Energy currently provides enrichment programs at eight North County partner locations. Depending on the coach’s experience, availability, and required site clearances, additional opportunities may include:

- Saturday gymnastics coverage beginning at 9:00 AM
- Assistant-coach positions
- Additional recreational gymnastics classes
- Summer camps and special programs
These opportunities are optional and based on program enrollment, staffing needs, coach availability, and completion of required location-specific clearances.
