About the Role

USRL Holdings is seeking an experienced, creative, and hands-on Executive Chef to lead food and beverage operations across two unique properties: NX Level Sports Complex and Unity Senior Living.

This is an exciting opportunity for a chef who enjoys variety and wants to build and oversee food programs in both a high-energy sports and entertainment environment and a residential senior-living community.

The Executive Chef will be responsible for menu development, food preparation, kitchen operations, purchasing, inventory, food cost management, sanitation, quality control, and overall culinary standards across both locations.

The ideal candidate is equally comfortable developing an elevated burger or flatbread menu for athletes and families at NX Level and preparing nutritious, appealing, and resident-focused meals for a 27-resident senior living community.

About NX Level Sports Complex

NX Level is a multi-sport training and recreation facility offering athletic training, strength and conditioning, volleyball, pickleball, batting cages, basketball, and other sports and fitness programs.

Its food and beverage operation goes well beyond traditional concessions. The Executive Chef will oversee an elevated, modern menu featuring items such as:

Acai bowls
Fresh smoothies
Burgers
Flatbreads
Specialty snacks and concession items
Family-friendly food options
Full-service bar offerings
Seasonal and special-event menu items

The chef will have an opportunity to help shape the culinary identity of NX Level and develop menus that are high-quality, approachable, profitable, and appropriate for a busy sports and entertainment environment.

About Unity Senior Living

Unity Senior Living is a 27-resident assisted living community focused on providing high-quality care and a comfortable, homelike environment for its residents.

The Executive Chef will oversee the community's food service program, including preparation of approximately 2–3 meals per day for up to 27 residents, snacks, and special meals.

Responsibilities will include:

Developing rotating menus
Preparing nutritious and appealing meals
Accommodating dietary restrictions and physician-ordered diets
Providing appropriate texture-modified meals when required
Preparing special holiday and celebration meals
Maintaining appropriate portion control
Working with management and caregivers regarding resident preferences and dietary needs
Maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming kitchen environment

The successful candidate will understand that senior living dining is about more than simply preparing food—it is an important part of residents' daily quality of life.

Key ResponsibilitiesCulinary Leadership

Lead culinary operations for both NX Level Sports Complex and Unity Senior Living.
Develop, implement, and maintain menus appropriate to each property's clientele.
Prepare and oversee preparation of high-quality food with consistent taste, presentation, and portioning.
Establish recipes, preparation procedures, and quality standards.
Introduce new menu concepts and seasonal offerings.
Create special menus for holidays, events, and private functions.

Food & Beverage Operations

Oversee daily kitchen and food-service operations.
Manage food purchasing, receiving, storage, and inventory.
Maintain appropriate food and beverage costs and minimize waste.
Develop and maintain standardized recipes and portion controls.
Work with management to establish pricing and menu profitability.
Assist with beverage and bar-related food service at NX Level.
Monitor product quality and vendor performance.

Staffing & Leadership

Recruit, train, schedule, and supervise kitchen and food-service staff as the operation grows.
Establish expectations for professionalism, cleanliness, food quality, and customer service.
Create efficient kitchen procedures and workflows.
Foster a positive, team-oriented kitchen culture.
Lead by example and remain hands-on in daily operations.

Food Safety & Compliance

Maintain strict compliance with applicable Wisconsin food-service regulations.
Maintain proper food handling, storage, labeling, temperature control, and sanitation procedures.
Ensure kitchens and food-service areas remain clean, organized, and inspection-ready.
Maintain appropriate records and documentation.
Follow all applicable senior-living dietary and food-service requirements at Unity Senior Living.

Resident & Guest Experience

At NX Level, create food that is appealing to athletes, families, guests, and members.
At Unity Senior Living, develop meals that residents genuinely enjoy while meeting their nutritional and dietary requirements.
Respond professionally to feedback and continually look for ways to improve the dining experience.

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate will be:

An experienced professional chef or culinary leader
Comfortable working in both high-volume and small-batch environments
Creative and passionate about food
Organized and financially responsible
Comfortable managing food costs and inventory
A strong communicator and team leader
Comfortable working independently and taking ownership
Detail-oriented and committed to cleanliness and food safety
Able to adapt menus to different audiences and dietary requirements
Willing to be hands-on rather than simply managing from an office

Preferred Qualifications

Culinary degree or formal culinary training preferred
5+ years of professional culinary experience preferred
Previous Executive Chef, Chef de Cuisine, Sous Chef, or Kitchen Manager experience
Experience with menu development and food-cost management
Experience supervising kitchen staff
Experience in restaurant, hospitality, sports/entertainment, healthcare, senior living, or institutional food service
ServSafe certification or willingness to obtain
Knowledge of Wisconsin food-service regulations
Experience with senior living or healthcare dining is a plus, but not required
