The HR Generalist will play a key role in supporting the Human Resources department with a variety of administrative and HR-related tasks. This position requires a high level of organization, attention to detail, and the ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.

Responsibilities

- Delivers a high level of customer service to all internal and external customers
- including answering incoming calls and responding to employee and customer inquiries
- Supports employees with benefits enrollment
- changes
- and day-to-day benefits questions
- Responds to Verification of Employment requests from banking institutions and other third parties
- Maintains all employee-related files
- including personnel files and records of insurance coverage
- retirement plans
- hires
- promotions
- transfers
- terminations
- and other documentation required by federal and state agencies
- Audits HR files regularly to ensure compliance with state
- federal
- and internal policies
- Ensures employees and managers receive training that clearly defines YAG processes and supports ongoing compliance
- Maintains accurate employee data in the HRIS
- processing updates to account information
- pay adjustments
- status changes
- and transfers
- Partners with payroll to ensure employee changes are entered timely and accurately
- Prepares termination notices and related documentation for departing employees
- Conducts exit interviews and shares insights with HR leadership to identify trends and improve retention.

Qualifications

- 2-3 years of related HR work experience
- OR a degree in Human Resources (or a related field) and one (1) year of related work experience
- Working knowledge of federal
- state
- and local employment and employee relations laws
- with the ability to apply them in day-to-day HR practice
- Ability to read
- analyze
- and interpret HR-related documents such as policies
- legal and compliance documents
- benefits materials
- and government forms
- Strong attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- Proficiency with HRIS platforms and Microsoft Office preferred
