About The Role:
The analyst supports multiple applications (60+) that enable various unit operations in a Global Cellulose Fibers (GCF) mill. The hardware and applications supported enable operations 24x7x365. Support also includes Disaster Recovery for key mill processes. The role will perform updates and maintenance of Mill IT hardware and applications as directed.
The analyst will also be responsible for:
- Intermediate hardware support across the mill environment and must have proficiency in troubleshooting hardware issues. The successful candidate will have knowledge of various operating systems and be able to install, configure and maintain hardware in the manufacturing environment.
- Intermediate software support across the mill environment and will gain knowledge of the applications that support GCF mills. These applications include, but are not limited to: OSIsoft PI, GE Plant Applications, MACT Reporting, and other related tools.
- Providing oversight and management for order tracking, technical certifications, and warranty issues related to hardware. The successful candidate will also work with the Mill IT Manager to allocate and track software licensing at the local level.
- Performing overall troubleshooting for all desktop infrastructure incidents that are escalated. The scope of the incidents include:
- Workstation – Computers, printers, handheld devices, smartphones, and peripherals.
- Server – Enterprise infrastructure and business specific application servers.
- Network – LAN equipment, Access Points, WiFi, RF, racks, wiring
- Vendor Management – Manage the vendors used in infrastructure support at the facilities (escort for safety purposes).
- Performing troubleshooting for mill applications. The scope of these incidents include:
- Scripting for VBScript and Stored Procedures
- Database Technologies - SQL Server Management Studio, SQL queries, ODBC, and other database connections
- Plant Application Administration - Oversight of the Plant Model Hierarchy, Variables, Products, Specifications and Displays
- PI Administration - Configuration and management of data flow across the firewall, Configuration and management of AF analytics, Support of PI Tag life-cycle and PI system data integrity
- Providing business and operational support for information technology solutions utilizing mill information systems and assets. There will be a focus on continuous improvement of paper production quality and manufacturing cost optimization.
- Supporting and implementing new and existing applications. Key customers include plant operators and supervisors, technical and business groups, and mill management.
- Under some supervision, acting as liaison with other IT support groups, facility management, and vendors. Role may also participate in planning, designing, and implementing data communication infrastructure using IT standards.
Coordinating several work efforts at a time while maintaining a high level of customer service.Supporting the continuous operation of a high uptime manufacturing environment and must be responsive to off-hour support requirements.Complying with all mill safety policies and conduct themselves with a Safety Above All Else mindset.
About You: Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Bachelors Degree in Information Technology or related field required, or equivalent experience required
- 5 - 8 years of related Information Systems experience required
- Information Technology experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
- Mill IT Support Specialist experience preferred
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Demonstrated competence to work:
- With little to no supervision
- Effectively with all levels in the mill
- Technical Learning and the ability to stay current on the latest technological trends.
- Ability to provide technical guidance to less experienced personnel
