JOB DESCRIPTION: Residential Horticulture Maintenance
McCullough’s Landscape & Nursery is hiring full time residential maintenance team members focused on preforming sustainable horticultural practices, doing what is right for the ecology of the garden and longevity of the client relationship. Team members will work with an integrated team of horticulturists, designers, plant health care technicians, turf care, irrigation and craftsmen ensuring the entire property is maintained with a holistic collaboration.
Responsibilities:
· Complete tasks based on established property care plan. Examples of tasks include seasonal clean ups, mulching, bed care, edging, weeding, sheering and pruning.
· Daily Schedule will shift between seasonal tasks (i.e. mulching, cleanups) and weekly maintenance tasks (i.e. weeding, bed care) throughout the year.
· Following of proper pruning and perennial care to support pollination and overall plant health.
· Work with a core team of 2-3 members for a dedicated client roster, but will join the greater maintenance team to complete larger projects.
· Training will focus on both proper horticultural skills/best practices in addition to how to provide valuable customer service.
· Educate other team members with personal skill set and learn from other disciplines such as Plant Health Care, Irrigation and Garden Design.
· Responsibilities DO NOT INCLUDE mowing, applying fertilizers/pesticides or sales of services.
Qualifications:
- Recommended two years’ industry/field experience or two/four-year degree in horticulture (or related field) We provide on the job training and education to expose to different tasks and jobs. Previous experience is reflected in starting pay, but continued growth in skills is also reflected over tenure.
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
- Team focus and desire to thrive in a positive company culture.
- Enjoy the physicality of working outdoors
Requirements:
- 18 years of Age
- Experienced Drivers with a Valid Driver’s License having an acceptable driving record per our company guidelines and insurable by our company insurance.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Dislike of Stella Dora Daylilies
- Strong communication skills both documenting work and communication with co-workers/clients.
- This position is in the field year-round, so ability to work in varied weather conditions is required.
