Full Job Description

Job Summary

Summit Funding Group, Inc., a subsidiary of First Financial Bank, is seeking a full-time Senior Corporate Paralegal to support a broad range of legal, compliance, regulatory, corporate governance, and transactional matters. This role will report to the General Counsel and serve as a key legal team resource, providing advanced paralegal support, managing legal processes, and assisting with complex projects in a fast-paced corporate environment.

The Senior Paralegal will be a member of the Legal team and will report to the General counsel and will be responsible for independently handling a variety of legal and administrative matters, supporting commercial agreements, maintaining corporate records, coordinating litigation and claims, assisting with entity registrations and licensing, and helping ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

Conduct legal and regulatory research and summarize findings for review by the General Counsel.
Manage, maintain, and track corporate licenses, entity registrations, annual filings, and related compliance requirements.
Review, edit, and assist with drafting commercial agreements, amendments, correspondence, corporate documents, and other legal materials.
Support contract management processes, including tracking, organization, execution, renewal deadlines, and documentation.
Assist in managing and tracking corporate claims, litigation, subpoenas, discovery requests, and related legal matters.
Serve as a liaison with internal departments, outside counsel, vendors, registered agents, and governmental agencies.
Support entity formation, maintenance, registrations, titling matters, and corporate governance activities.
Maintain corporate records, minute books, resolutions, organizational documents, and other key legal files.
Initiate, coordinate, and advance legal projects as assigned by the General Counsel.
Assist with compliance-related initiatives, including policy review, regulatory tracking, and documentation support.
Identify opportunities to improve legal department processes, documentation, organization, and workflow.
Provide guidance and support to other administrative or legal support staff, as needed.
Handle confidential and sensitive information with professionalism, discretion, and sound judgment.

Preferred Qualifications

Associate’s degree or Paralegal Certificate from an accredited program; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
2+ years of relevant paralegal experience, preferably in a corporate legal department, financial services organization, equipment finance company, commercial lending environment, or law firm.
Experience reviewing, editing, and managing commercial contracts and legal documentation.
Strong understanding of corporate governance, entity management, regulatory filings, litigation support, and legal recordkeeping.
Experience in equipment finance, leasing, commercial lending, or financial services strongly preferred.
Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and manage complex or time-sensitive matters with minimal supervision.
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with internal teams, external counsel, vendors, and regulatory or governmental contacts.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
Experience with contract management systems, legal matter management tools, or corporate records platforms preferred.
