Command Performance Catering is seeking Offsite Catering Chefs for events.

Offsite Catering Chef for events located in Ventura & LA County.

Seeking talented, passionate, motivated, and well-groomed chefs for prep and off-premise events.
Shifts are generally Friday - Sunday.
Evening and weekend availability are a must. Some holidays may be required.

Catering is a fun, flexible job for those who like the spontaneity of working different locations in a celebratory, positive environment, with a variety of talent, while meeting and interacting with new guests along the way.

Duties:

Responsible for food preparation, offsite kitchen setup, and execution of events
Fully setup, manage, and breakdown staging of kitchen area operations while off-premise
Assist in the unloading and loading of catering equipment and food from company vehicles
Execute food service at offsite catering events in meeting the timeline of when food is to be served to guests
Oversee proper packing techniques of food and equipment to prevent leakage and breakage to reduce costs for cleanup and loadout
Take inventory of food and equipment to make sure nothing is missing that is required for the success of the event
Check-in with the Lead of the event on special meal counts and accommodations
Ensure that food off-premise is of good quality and stored in optimum conditions that meet safe food handling standards
Manage time for when preparing and serving food with the timeline of the event and task prioritize
Present an example of plated meals to all kitchen staff on-site and direct them on proper garnishment
Oversee all food presentation and immediately correct any issues
Assign roles and job tasks to staff on what help is needed in food preparation
Complete BOH clean up at facility according to company and venue standards
Re-load trucks in an organized manner with equipment after event
Maintain an organized, clean, and healthy kitchen environment

Qualifications:

2 years of culinary/kitchen experience (preferred)
High volume catering or banquet experience (preferred)
A culinary degree (preferred)
Excellent knife skills
Must possess and maintain a valid Serve Safe Certification
High Energy - Physically able to execute off premise delivery / service
Clean and neat appearance
Strong organizational and communications skills are a must in running an efficient, upkept kitchen
Offer creative direction with attention to detail while following pre-set guidelines for plate presentation and buffet setups
Ability to work with a team and lead in food preparation and setup
Ability to problem-solve quickly when under pressure and adapt to changes that may occur at any point for strict timelines
Ability to stand the full duration of each shift
Position requires carrying and lifting kitchen equipment up to 40 pounds unassisted
Frequent stooping and bending is expected
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment
Punctuality and consistency are a must
Must be available to work long hours on weekends and evenings
Must have reliable transportation and the wiliness to commute to and from scheduled events that are located in Ventura & LA County

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
