Full Job Description

Overview
We are a small steel fabrication shop. The position will include moving material with forklift, prime painting finished projects, cutting steel materials to length using bandsaw, drilling holes and yard maintenance. Assisting shop as needed.

Responsibilities

Operate various types of saws, ensuring precision in cutting materials according to specifications.
Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to determine cutting requirements.
Utilize power tools effectively for cutting, shaping, and finishing materials.
Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety protocols at all times.
Perform routine maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal performance.
Collaborate with team members to meet production deadlines and quality standards.
Assist in the setup and operation of additional machinery such as press brake machines and plasma cutters as needed.
Follow all company policies regarding safety, quality control, and production processes.

Requirements

Proven experience as a Saw Operator or in a similar role within a manufacturing environment.
Proficiency in blueprint reading and understanding technical specifications.
Familiarity with welding techniques, including FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding).
Experience operating forklifts and other material handling equipment is preferred.
Knowledge of pipe threading processes is advantageous.
Strong understanding of industry codes and standards related to manufacturing practices.
Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to cutting tasks.
Ability to operate power tools safely and effectively.
Strong attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality work.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well in a team-oriented environment.
