About the Role
Reporting directly to the CEO, the Vice President of Industrial Construction & Operations – North America will serve as a senior member of MTLI Group’s Executive Leadership Team.
Working closely with all Vice Presidents, Regional Directors, and senior leadership, this executive will align operations, industrial construction, project management, engineering, procurement, safety, finance, human resources, and business development to ensure the successful execution of the company’s strategic objectives across North America.
The successful candidate will provide executive leadership over operational performance while helping build the systems, leadership teams, and operational infrastructure required to support MTLI Group’s long-term growth.
This role requires an experienced builder—someone who has successfully scaled industrial construction organizations, developed elite leadership teams, improved profitability, and delivered complex projects safely, efficiently, and consistently.
Executive Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Develop and execute MTLI Group’s North American operational strategy.
- Lead operational performance across Canada and the United States.
- Collaborate with all Vice Presidents to ensure alignment across every business division.
- Support the CEO in strategic planning, expansion initiatives, acquisitions, and organizational development.
- Build scalable systems capable of supporting significant long-term growth.
- Develop future operational leaders and succession plans.
- Foster a culture built on accountability, execution, safety, innovation, and continuous improvement.

Project Management Office (PMO)
A key responsibility of this role is the development of a best-in-class Project Management Office (PMO) that supports every division across North America.
Responsibilities include:
- Establish standardized project delivery methodologies.
- Develop project governance frameworks.
- Build company-wide scheduling standards.
- Standardize documentation and reporting.
- Implement executive KPI dashboards.
- Improve forecasting and resource planning.
- Develop project financial controls.

This position is expected to contribute directly to MTLI Group’s growth strategy.
The successful candidate will leverage existing relationships throughout the industrial construction industry to strengthen MTLI Group’s presence across North America while supporting executive-level business development initiatives.
Responsibilities include:
- Developing new strategic client relationships.
- Expanding existing customer partnerships.
- Supporting major proposals and pursuits.
- Assisting with strategic account development.
- Representing MTLI Group at executive-level meetings.
- Supporting acquisitions and strategic partnerships.
- Identifying new market opportunities.
First-Year Expectations
- Build and implement a fully operational North American Project Management Office (PMO).
- Originate a minimum of $25,000,000 in new project awards or qualified opportunities through existing industry relationships and executive-level business development.
- Develop a sustainable pipeline of strategic opportunities that supports MTLI Group’s long-term growth objectives.

Qualifications
Required
- 15+ years of progressive leadership experience.
- 10+ years within industrial construction, EPC, design-build, warehouse automation, or material handling.
- Experience leading multi-location operations across North America.
- Proven success building and leading high-performing operational organizations.
- Strong financial and commercial acumen.
- Extensive experience managing complex industrial projects.
- Experience developing executive-level operational systems.
- Exceptional leadership and organizational development skills.
Preferred
- Professional Engineering designation (asset).
- PMP Certification (asset).
- Lean Construction or Six Sigma Certification (asset).
- MBA or advanced business education (asset).
