We are seeking a detail-oriented Assistant Bookkeeper or Data Analyst to join our team. This position plays a key role in maintaining accurate and organized books for multiple entities and supporting the Finance Director with reporting and compliance. The Assistant Bookkeeper or Data Analyst also helps review the work of AP/AR and Data Entry clerks to ensure accuracy but does not have direct supervisory responsibility.
Job Description:
The Assistant Bookkeeper or Data Analyst is responsible for recording and maintaining accurate financial transactions while reviewing entries prepared by AP/AR and data entry clerks for accuracy. Core duties include reconciliations, payroll, and vendor payments, with the flexibility to step in on any accounting task when needed to support the team. In addition, this position assists with the month-end close, prepares basic financial reports, and supports compliance reporting under the guidance and direction of the Finance Director. It may also be required that the Assistant Bookkeeper or Data Analyst help organize and monitor key operational data such as completion of maintenance requests, common area charges, and other data that may help make operations more efficient.
Key Responsibilities:
- Enter and maintain accurate AP and AR transactions in accounting systems
- Assist with bank, credit card, and general ledger reconciliations
- Prepare and upload invoices, bills, and supporting documentation
- Post routine journal entries as directed
- Assist with CAM reconciliations and property-level expense tracking
- Help organize financial records and maintain clean books for multiple entities
- Support month-end close by gathering documentation and completing assigned tasks
- Run basic financial reports for internal use
- Communicate with vendors and internal staff regarding billing questions
- Assist the Bookkeeper and Finance Director with special projects as needed
- Perform other accounting and administrative duties as assigned
- Assist with tracking and organizing of maintenance requests and expenses.
Qualifications:
- 1–3 years of bookkeeping or accounting support experience (property management a plus)
- Familiarity with QuickBooks Desktop and/or AppFolio preferred
- Basic to intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to follow established procedures and meet deadlines
- Willingness to learn and take direction from senior accounting staff
- Spanish fluency highly preferred
- Associate’s degree or coursework in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred

Pay: $40,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
