Position Summary
The Data Center Infrastructure Technician is responsible for electrical installation, low-voltage infrastructure wiring, equipment integration, commissioning, and troubleshooting within mission-critical data center environments. This position is ideal for electricians who enjoy problem-solving, technology, and working with sophisticated infrastructure systems beyond traditional commercial or industrial electrical work.
What You'll DoInfrastructure Installation & Integration
- Install and terminate electrical distribution systems supporting servers, networking equipment, and AI infrastructure.
- Route, secure, and label power and communication cabling according to industry standards.
- Install cable trays, ladder racks, conduit systems, and equipment supports.
- Integrate power systems with network, monitoring, and control systems.
- Perform equipment rack installation and infrastructure build-outs.
Systems Commissioning
- Verify power distribution and connectivity for newly deployed equipment.
- Conduct testing, validation, and commissioning activities.
- Assist with startup procedures for UPS systems, PDUs, cooling infrastructure, and monitoring systems.
- Document installations and maintain accurate as-built records.
Troubleshooting & Maintenance
- Diagnose electrical and infrastructure-related issues in mission-critical environments.
- Support preventive maintenance programs.
- Respond to infrastructure incidents and assist with root cause analysis.
- Work closely with engineering teams to implement upgrades and improvements.
Safety & Compliance
- Maintain strict adherence to electrical codes, safety procedures, and data center operating standards.
- Follow lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures and arc flash safety requirements.
- Ensure all installations meet company, customer, and regulatory requirements.
What We're Looking ForRequired Qualifications
- Active Journeyman Electrician License.
- 3+ years of commercial, industrial, or mission-critical electrical experience.
- Strong understanding of electrical distribution systems.
- Experience reading electrical drawings, schematics, and construction documents.
- Ability to safely use electrical testing equipment and hand tools.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in active construction or data center environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in data centers, telecom, industrial automation, manufacturing, or critical facilities.
- Familiarity with low-voltage cabling systems including fiber optics, Ethernet, and structured cabling.
- Experience with UPS systems, generators, switchgear, and power monitoring systems.
- Knowledge of DC power systems and controls.
- OSHA 10, OSHA 30, NFPA 70E, or similar certifications.
- Experience working in fast-paced technology environments.
Pay: $25.86 - $60.00 per hour
