Where You Will Work: Remote role open to candidates residing in Washington (WA) or Oregon (OR). (Branches)
Pay Range: The target annual pay range for this position is $93,456 - $106,200. The full annual pay range is $84,960 - $127,440.
- Compensation decisions are determined using factors such as relevant job-related skills, experience, and education or training. Should an offer of employment be made, we will consider individual qualifications. In addition to your salary, compensation incentives are available for the hired applicant. Incentives are performance based and targets vary by role.
Job Overview: This position is responsible for ensuring the comprehensive assessment and underwriting of a variety of consumer loan products, including but not limited to auto loans, secured and unsecured lines of credit, and recreational vehicle financing.
What You'll Do:
- Analyzes loan applications, credit bureau reports, collateral evaluation, member account data, financial statements, tax returns, and other loan documentation to make, lending decisions on a variety of loan products in conformance with, fair lending, regulatory compliance, and established credit union policies and procedures.
- Reviews loans to ensure accuracy and effectively communicate with the consumer lending team, branches, dealer and merchant partners regarding credit decisions.
- Fosters and maintains positive relationships with dealer and merchant partners through verbal and written communication
- Keeps current with knowledge of lending product updates, criteria, guidelines, procedures, policies, and processes to make sound lending decisions.
- Supports process improvement, projects, special programs and business objectives.
- Acts with the authority of the Credit Manager, making loan decisions that may fall outside of the established guidelines.
- Reviews and decisions consumer credit applications for employees of the credit union and business partners.
- Sets a positive example for others by modeling superior service skills during interactions with all parties.
- Acts as a mentor in assisting Lead or Manager providing underwriters with up-to-date tools, training and development to maintain consistency in underwriting consumer loans within the framework of our lending policies and guidelines.
- Assists the Lead or Manager with such operational activities as scheduling, conducting meetings, and attending meetings in the absence of the Lead or Manager.
- All other duties as assigned.
When You'll Be Working:
- Monday through Friday, and rotating Saturdays or Sundays, 9am to 6pm.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of five (5) of consumer lending processing and underwriting experience.

- Deposit operations (BSA, Regs. CC, DD, E, D, and Q).
- Expertise in Fair Credit Reporting, Fair Lending and Debt Collection Practices, and compliance with federal, state, and local laws, statutes, regulations, and standards.
- Familiarity with Truth in Lending Regulations (Z, E, and B).
- Expertise in loan collateral types and their role in determining loan qualifications.
- In-depth knowledge of loan services, features, and benefits offered by the credit union.
- Actively learn and apply new information for effective decision-making and problem-solving.
- Seek opportunities to assist members, dealer partners, and co-workers.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with all credit union staff.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with dealer and merchant partners.
- Perform effectively in environments with frequent changes in work volume and competing demands.

- Provide excellent customer services in both written and oral communication.
- Utilizes advanced underwriting techniques and a deep understanding of credit risk to make informed lending decisions.
- Demonstrates a firm understanding of income documentation with elevated complexity, and the ability to analyze business trends of self-employed borrowers

- Full-Time Regular employees accrue 8 hours of vacation and 8 hours of sick leave, on a monthly basis.

All benefits except 401k start the first of the month following date of hire. Employees become eligible to contribute to 401k on the first of the month following 60 days of employment.
