POSITION SUMMARY
Detego Health is seeking an experienced and solutions-oriented Senior Human Resources Specialist to support our growing, multi-state workforce. This role serves as a trusted resource for employees, managers, and leaders by providing expertise in employee relations, compliance, performance management, talent acquisition, benefits administration, compensation, and HR operations.
The Senior HR Specialist is responsible for managing complex HR matters, ensuring compliance with employment laws and company policies, supporting organizational initiatives, and delivering a positive employee experience aligned with Detego Health's mission, values, and culture. This position requires strong business acumen, excellent judgment, high ethical standards, and the ability to balance employee advocacy with business objectives.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Employee Relations & Performance Management
· Serve as a primary HR contact for employees and managers regarding HR policies, procedures, and workplace concerns.
· Conduct employee relations investigations and provide guidance regarding appropriate resolutions.
· Support managers with coaching, disciplinary actions, performance improvement plans, corrective actions, and employee separations.
· Partner with leadership to promote a positive, inclusive, and high-performing workplace culture.
· Identify and mitigate organizational risks while ensuring fair and consistent application of policies.
Talent Acquisition & Onboarding
· Manage full-cycle recruitment activities for assigned positions.
· Collaborate with leaders to develop effective recruiting and workforce planning strategies.
· Facilitate interview processes, candidate assessments, offer preparation, and hiring recommendations.
· Coordinate and enhance onboarding and orientation programs to ensure a seamless new hire experience.
· Monitor recruitment metrics and recommend process improvements.
Benefits & Leave Administration
· Support administration of employee benefits programs, including medical, dental, vision, FSA/HSA, life insurance, disability, and retirement plans.
· Assist employees with benefit-related questions, eligibility requirements, and enrollment changes.
· Support open enrollment planning, employee communications, and vendor coordination.
· Administer and monitor leave programs, including FMLA, ADA accommodations, workers' compensation, and state-specific leaves.
Compensation Administration
· Assist with salary benchmarking, compensation analyses, and job evaluations.
· Support annual merit review and compensation planning processes.
· Ensure compensation practices remain competitive, equitable, and aligned with organizational goals.
Compliance & HR Operations
· Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
· Support policy development, implementation, and employee communications.
· Maintain accurate HRIS records and personnel documentation.
· Prepare reports, workforce analytics, and compliance-related documentation.
· Participate in internal audits and monitoring activities.
· Recommend process improvements that increase efficiency and enhance employee experience.
Organizational Development & Projects
· Support employee engagement initiatives and culture-building activities.
· Assist with performance management programs, leadership development, and succession planning efforts.
· Participate in cross-functional projects and organizational change initiatives.
· Contribute to strategic HR initiatives supporting business growth and operational excellence.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or related field required.
Experience
Minimum of 5 years of progressive Human Resources experience. Experience supporting employee relations, benefits administration, compliance, recruiting, and performance management. Demonstrated experience conducting workplace investigations and managing sensitive employee matters. Experience supporting a multi-state workforce preferred. Healthcare or Insurance industry experience preferred.
Certifications Preferred
SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR preferred.
