Full Job Description
EPIC Executive Protection, Investigations & Consulting LLC is building its roster of professional, dependable on-call Security Officers for assignments based on client needs and officer availability.
Security Officers are responsible for protecting our clients, personnel, visitors, and assigned properties. Duties may include maintaining a visible security presence, identifying suspicious or unsafe activity, preventing theft and vandalism, controlling access, and responding appropriately to incidents.
Assignments may include general security, event security, executive protection support, workplace security, and other specialized security operations.
This is not a full-time or regularly scheduled position. Officers are contacted when assignments become available and may accept work based on their availability. The frequency and duration of assignments will vary, and no minimum number of hours is guaranteed. Full-time work in the future may be available.
EPIC is willing to train qualified applicants who are new to the security industry for select assignments. Prior security, military, law-enforcement, corrections, emergency-services, or customer-service experience is preferred but not required.
Responsibilities
- Patrol assigned properties to maintain order and establish a visible security presence
- Monitor and control access by employees, visitors, contractors, and vehicles
- Identify and address suspicious, disruptive, unsafe, or unauthorized activity
- Remove trespassers or unauthorized individuals when legally permitted and appropriate
- Respond to alarms, emergencies, disturbances, and requests for assistance
- Provide assistance and direction to employees, visitors, and members of the public
- Contact law enforcement, fire, or emergency medical services when necessary
- Follow all post orders, company policies, and client-specific procedures
- Maintain a professional appearance and represent EPIC appropriately at all times

- Previous experience as a Security Officer, security guard, law-enforcement officer, corrections officer, emergency responder, or member of the military
- Knowledge of security procedures and applicable legal guidelines
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent observation and situational-awareness skills
- Ability to remain professional and composed during stressful situations
- Training or experience in de-escalation, defensive tactics, or self-defense
- Customer-service experience

Minimum Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old for unarmed assignments
- Must be at least 21 years old for armed assignments

- Must be able to pass all applicable background checks
- Must be able to stand, walk, and remain alert for extended periods

- Must be willing to work days, evenings, overnights, weekends, or holidays depending on assignment needs
- Must be able to respond to assignment offers in a timely manner
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Armed Officer Training and Licensing
Prior armed-security experience and existing permits are preferred but not required to apply. EPIC is willing to train the right candidates and assist them with obtaining the licenses, permits, and qualifications required for armed assignments.
Candidates must successfully complete all required training, background checks, firearms qualifications, and licensing requirements before working in an armed capacity. Applicants who do not yet meet armed-officer requirements may be considered for eligible unarmed assignments while completing the licensing process.
Schedule and Assignment Availability
EPIC provides security services based on client needs. Available assignments may include:
- 6-, 8-, 10-, and 12-hour shifts
- Day, evening, and overnight assignments
- Weekday and weekend assignments
- Holiday assignments
- Special events
- Short-notice assignments
- Temporary client contracts
- On-call security coverage
Applicants may provide their availability and accept assignments that fit their schedules. Declining an individual assignment does not necessarily remove an officer from the on-call roster; however, reliability after accepting an assignment is required.
Hours, schedules, locations, and assignment frequency will vary. Employment with EPIC does not guarantee a minimum number of assignments or hours.
Why Join EPIC’s On-Call Roster?
EPIC offers opportunities to gain experience across a variety of security environments while maintaining flexibility over which assignments you accept. Reliable officers who perform well may be considered for additional assignments and specialized opportunities as they become available.
