BIENERT KATZMAN LITTRELL WILLIAMS LLP is one of Southern California’s top boutique trial firms, and we are seeking a full-time Docketing Specialist-Project Assistant.
ABOUT OUR FIRM We are a fast-paced, tech-forward litigation firm who handles high-stakes civil, criminal, bankruptcy and appellate matters across the United States. Our team includes former federal prosecutors, former federal public defenders, attorneys from international white-shoe firms, and experienced litigation paraprofessionals. Our cases involve novel legal issues, intriguing subject matter, and high-profile clientele.
ABOUT YOU As a Docketing Specialist-Project Assistant, you will be an integral part of the team effort as we work cases from inception through trial. From calculating and calendaring deadlines, researching procedural rules and assisting with trial preparation, you will use critical thinking and problem solving to make an impact in our cases and our law practice as a whole.
Successful candidates will be team players, have excellent research and interpersonal communication skills, be detail oriented, be able to navigate complex workflows, and thrive in a tech-forward environment.
Essential Responsibilities include:
- Primary responsibility for calculating, calendaring and maintaining all critical case dates and deadlines for the firm.
- Conducting research on case-related procedures and rules.
- Maintain court docket email boxes to identify, summarize and calendar pleadings.
- Generate and modify litigation docket reports for circulation to attorneys and paralegals.
- Present upcoming deadlines during weekly calendar meetings.
- Communicating with clients, the government, courts and agencies as needed.
- Assist paralegals with projects at all stages of the litigation process, including deposition, hearing and trial preparation, case investigation, and various administrative tasks.
Essential Skills and Abilities include:
- A minimum of 2 years of litigation docketing experience in a law firm or court setting.
- Strong knowledge of court rules and procedures in state and federal courts.
- Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word).
- The ability to multitask and manage workflows to meet deadlines, and to carry out your duties independently and as part of a team.
- The ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, clients and courts while safeguarding confidential subject matter.
- Familiarity with LawToolBox (or other rules-based calendaring software such as CourtAlert, CompuLaw, etc.) is preferred.

Compensation range is $31.00 to $43.25 per hour dependent upon experience.
Upon satisfactory completion of an introductory training period, you will be eligible to work remotely. However, you must be available to come to our San Clemente office on an as-needed basis.
