Full Job Description

Duravex – Who We Are:
Duravex is a high-growth manufacturer based in Louisa, Virginia, specializing in sheet metal fabrication, welding, machining, coatings, and the design and build of turnkey mechanical systems. In addition to full system integration and production, we also design custom equipment and collaborate with customers to refine and optimize their product designs. Our capabilities include UL 508A industrial control panels and electrical assemblies as part of broader engineered solutions.

Our capabilities are organized into five strategic verticals: Engineered Plant Equipment, OEM Equipment, Data Infrastructure, Defense & Secure Facility Components, Exhaust Systems, and Contract Manufacturing.

What You’ll Do:
The Press Brake Operator is responsible for the precise setup, programming, and operation of CNC press brakes to produce high-tolerance sheet metal and precision components. This role requires exceptional attention to detail to ensure all parts meet strict quality and dimensional standards required for precision metal fabrication. The operator will work closely with the quality department and engineering to support lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.

Daily Tasks:
Set up, program, and operate CNC press brakes to bend and form precision sheet metal components to exact specifications.
Select proper tooling, dies, and back gauge settings to achieve required bend angles and radius.
Interpret complex technical blueprints, CAD drawings, and work instructions with a focus on tight tolerances and surface finishes.
Adjust machine parameters and tooling to maintain consistent quality and precision.
Conducting quality checks and collaborating with management, engineering and quality inspectors to resolve dimensional or process issues.
Perform preventive maintenance on press brakes, including die cleaning, lubrication, and checking machine alignment.
Adhering to safety protocols
Maintaining a clean work area

What You Bring:
3+ years of experience operating CNC press brakes in a precision metal fabrication environment.
Strong ability to read and interpret complex blueprints and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
Proficiency with precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, protractors, and height gauges).
Experience with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing a high-quality product.
Knowledge of safety procedures and ability to lead and follow them.
Effective written and communicating skills to collaborate with team members.
Hand-eye coordination, ability to work with accuracy.
Strong math and problem-solving skills.
Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and processes.
