Full Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for the daily setup and operation of one or more CNC plasma – flame table cutting machines. He/she will also assist other CNC operators with any of their daily duties including area housekeeping, maintenance work, and material staging. You will set the Plasma up for various cutting jobs then start and monitor the Plasma to insure accuracy and quality. After parts are cut they are inspected and if necessary cleaned.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Perform daily machine startup and shutdown procedures on CNC cutting equipment.
2. Stage raw materials at each work-center for the day’s production.
3. Load and unload machines.
4. Ensure that parts being cut with acceptable quality and accuracy.
5. Maintain daily dust collector service and report equipment deficiencies.
6. Ensure production schedule follow through.
7. Assist in loading and unloading team members’ machines when production requires additional manpower to maintain throughput.
8. Perform minor maintenance and cleaning of cutting equipment and work area in accordance with company standards and manufactures machine recommendations.
9. Perform some machine alignment procedures and optic cleaning to keep equipment at peak operating performance.
10. Facilitate work-order paper flow in accordance with ISO quality standards.
11. Check parts on other cutting centers per ISO standards if required.
12. Clean parts if necessary
13. Monitoring assist and resonator gas levels and recommend supply requirements for daily production.
14. Other duties assigned by Lead/Supervisor or Management.
15. Adherence to attendance policy (regular attendance)

QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Three or more years experience operating CNC Plasma or Flame table CNC cutting machines.
2. Working experience on multiple brands of CNC Plasmas such as Kinetic or Hypertherm is highly preferred.
3. High School diploma preferred.
4. Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
5. Some drawing and reading comprehension skills.
6. Ability to inspect flat cut parts with precision inspection equipment.
7. Demonstrated ability to read drawings.
8. Possess some knowledge of and ability to identify fabrication industry metals.
9. Familiarity with metal flat patterns preferred.
10. Ability to learn or have some working knowledge of NC machine code.
11. Ability to work well as a team member.
12. Understanding and support of Company policies and procedures.
13. Safety conscious behavior.
14. Excellent attendance.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
1. Lift, carry, push and or pull 1 – 50 lbs frequently.
2. Squat/kneel, bend/stoop, crawl, twist/turn, grasp and reach overhead and outward frequently.
3. Sit, stand and walk for 1 – 10 hours per day.
4. Ability to work in an unheated warehouse work environment.
5. Work in a fast paced industrial environment wearing hard-hat, steel-toed shoes and other appropriate protective clothing.

SCHEDULE:
Day Shift: Mon – Fri, 5:00 am – 1:30 pm

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $28.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
