Position Description: The Director of Financial Intelligence & Investigations is responsible for leading the Data Sleuth® division, overseeing the quality and consistency of analytical work product, and managing the operational execution of client engagements. This position combines operational leadership, forensic accounting expertise, quality assurance, team development, and investigative problem-solving.
The ideal candidate is an experienced forensic accounting professional who has testified as an expert witness in financial investigative matters and possesses the leadership skills necessary to manage a growing team of analysts, managers, and support personnel. This individual will be responsible for maintaining the integrity of the Data Sleuth® methodology while ensuring client engagements are delivered accurately, efficiently, and consistently.
This role requires a strong commitment to excellence, intellectual curiosity, attention to detail, and the ability to transform complex financial information into clear, actionable work products.
Primary Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
- Lead the day-to-day operations of the Data Sleuth® division.
- Manage workflow and resource allocation across client engagements.
- Monitor engagement progress to ensure deadlines, budgets, and client expectations are met.
- Manage capacity planning and utilization of Data Sleuth® personnel.
- Assist with strategic planning and execution of growth initiatives.
Technical Review & Quality Assurance
- Perform detailed review of Data Sleuth® analyses, schedules, dashboards, reports, and other client deliverables.
- Ensure work product complies with established Data Sleuth® methodologies, quality standards, and documentation requirements.
- Evaluate analyses for accuracy, consistency, and logical support.
- Provide technical guidance and feedback to analysts regarding investigative methodologies, analytical techniques, and report development.
- Maintain and continually improve quality-control procedures and review processes.
- Ensure findings and conclusions are supported by appropriate data and investigative procedures.
Financial Investigations & Expert Services
- Provide leadership and subject matter expertise on complex financial investigations.
- Participate in client consultations regarding investigative priorities, scope development, and data analysis methodologies.
- Support litigation, dispute, fraud examination, asset tracing, fiduciary, and other investigative engagements.
- Assist with the preparation and review of expert reports, demonstratives, and supporting exhibits.
- Develop and manage expert witness engagements originated through Director's professional network, serving as the testifying expert when necessary.
Team Leadership & Development
- Train and mentor Data Sleuth® personnel.
- Enforce performance expectations and accountability standards.
- Assist team members in developing technical, investigative, and communication skills.
- Foster a culture of excellence, continuous improvement, and professional growth.
Process Development & Innovation
- Collaborate on the development of new Data Sleuth® services, products, and training initiatives.
- Maintain operational documentation, policies, and procedures.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Advanced forensic accounting and financial investigation experience.
- Strong understanding of litigation support and expert witness engagements.
- Exceptional analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly to clients, attorneys, judges, juries, and other stakeholders.
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, cases, and deadlines simultaneously.

Required Qualifications
- Active CPA license in good standing.
- Minimum of 15 years of accounting, forensic accounting, financial investigation, or litigation support experience.
- Prior testimony experience as a forensic accounting expert witness involving financial investigations.
- Demonstrated experience managing complex financial investigation engagements.
- Demonstrated experience reviewing and supervising forensic accounting analyses, schedules, reports, and investigative work product.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerApps, and financial data analysis.
- Experience managing professional staff and providing technical review of analysis work papers.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), Certified in Financial Forensics (CFF), Master Analyst in Financial Forensics (MAFF), or similar credential.
- Experience involving embezzlement, fraud, asset tracing, hidden assets, fiduciary disputes, trust and estate matters, partnership disputes, or financial misconduct investigations.
- Experience implementing and enforcing methodologies, workflows, or quality-control programs within a professional services organization.

Compensation & Practice Development Opportunity
This position offers a highly competitive performance-based compensation structure designed to reward both business development and technical contributions to client engagements.Revenue Participation
- Earn compensation on revenue generated through engagements personally originated and developed by the Director.
- Participate in a compensation model that rewards both client acquisition and ongoing engagement leadership.
Earnings Potential
- Total compensation is structured to align with the Director's success in generating, managing, and delivering client engagements.
- The compensation model is designed to be highly competitive within the forensic accounting, financial investigation, and expert witness marketplace, with the potential for total compensation to approximate 50% of collected revenue attributable to personal billable contributions and additional compensation for business originated by Director.
- High-performing professionals who successfully develop referral relationships and maintain a strong book of business have significant earning potential.

Pay: $200,000.00 - $250,000.00 per year
