Team size: 1 AP, 1AR (2 people) at Provo location that you will supervise but this is very much a hands on Senior Accountant position, with additional accounting teammates and support in Boise Idaho.

Position Overview
Alliance Fence & Supply is seeking a detail-oriented and accountable Senior Accountant to
support the financial integrity of a growing, multi-state wholesale distribution business. This role plays a critical part in month-end and year-end close, balance sheet accuracy, inventory accounting, compliance, and ongoing process improvement. The ideal candidate will have strong general ledger and reconciliation experience, advanced Excel skills, strong problem-solving abilities, and the ability to work effectively within Sage 100 or similar ERP systems.
The Senior Accountant will work closely with the Boise Controller, owning core
accounting responsibilities while helping strengthen systems, controls, and financial
visibility as the company continues to grow.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Close & Reporting
- Own and execute month-end and year-end close activities, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and consistency
- Prepare, post, and reconcile general ledger accounts, including payroll entries, accruals, prepaids, and other recurring and adjusting journal entries
- Review income statements, research variances, and provide clear explanations to leadership
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting support as needed
Controls, Reconciliations & Oversight
- Perform and review bank and account reconciliations, including cash, clearing, and liability accounts
- Coordinate month-end close activities with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
- Review AP and AR activity for accuracy and completeness
- Support strong internal controls and accounting documentation
Inventory, Cash & Operational Accounting
- Support inventory accounting activities including valuation reviews and cost adjustments
- Prepare and reconcile journal entries related to cash activity and operating liabilities
- Assist in maintaining accurate cost and balance sheet reporting
Payroll, Tax & Compliance Support
- Process or oversee payroll including related journal entries and reconciliations
- Prepare and file sales tax returns including multi-state considerations
- Support insurance renewals and audit preparation
Process Improvement & Systems
- Assist with accounting process and workflow improvements
- Improve close efficiency and documentation
- Identify opportunities to improve accuracy and scalability
What Success Looks Like
- On-time closes with clean reconciliations
- Accurate and reliable financial reporting
- Inventory, cash, and liability balances well supported
- Proactive issue identification
- Ability to independently identify, research, and resolve accounting issues
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
- 3–5+ years accounting experience
- Strong general ledger, reconciliations, and month-end close experience
- Sage 100 experience strongly preferred
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required
- Experience with inventory or wholesale distribution accounting preferred
- Experience with multi-state sales tax a plus
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- High accountability and attention to detail
- Ability to independently manage priorities and meet deadlines effectively
Physical & Other Requirements
- Office-based role
- Occasional travel to Utah and Idaho locations
