Are you creative, passionate about storytelling, and interested in using marketing to make a meaningful difference? Step’s Foundation, Inc. is seeking a motivated Marketing Coordinator Intern to help tell the story of our programs, students, families, and community impact.
This is an unpaid hybrid internship that combines remote marketing responsibilities with required in-person participation at our partnered school in Kissimmee, community events, outreach activities, and organizational programs. You’ll capture photos, videos, and real-time content that help bring our mission and impact to life.
As a Marketing Coordinator Intern, you’ll gain hands-on experience in nonprofit marketing, social media management, storytelling, branding, content creation, and analytics while contributing to work that supports youth and families.
Key Responsibilities
- Attend programming at our partnered school in Kissimmee to capture photos, videos, and approved content.
- Attend community events, outreach activities, workshops, and other organizational events to capture real-time content.
- Create, schedule, and manage engaging social media content across platforms.
- Develop stories highlighting our programs, students, families, partnerships, volunteers, and community impact.
- Design social media graphics, flyers, and digital marketing materials using Canva.
- Assist with newsletters featuring program updates, events, accomplishments, and impact stories.
- Follow and support the organization’s marketing plan and overall content strategy.
- Develop and maintain content calendars to ensure consistent communication.
- Maintain consistent branding, messaging, voice, and visual identity across platforms.
- Organize photos, videos, graphics, and other digital marketing assets.
- Monitor social media analytics, including reach, engagement, impressions, audience growth, and content performance.
- Assist with marketing reports and use performance data to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Collaborate with other team members to identify content and storytelling opportunities.
- Contribute creative ideas for campaigns that increase awareness and engagement.
Ideal Candidates
- Currently enrolled in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Digital Media, Advertising, Journalism, Graphic Design, or a related field.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Creative with an interest in storytelling and content creation.
- Experience with or willingness to learn Canva.
- Familiarity with platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and other social media channels.
- Interest or experience in photography, videography, short-form video, or digital content creation.
- Basic understanding of social media analytics or willingness to learn.
- Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple assignments and deadlines.
- Comfortable collaborating with students, families, staff, volunteers, and community partners.
- Reliable and able to attend required in-person activities throughout the Kissimmee area.
- Interest in nonprofit marketing, youth development, education, advocacy, or community impact.
Important Internship Expectations
This is a hybrid internship and is not fully remote. While content creation, graphic design, scheduling, analytics, and other responsibilities may be completed remotely, in-person participation is an essential part of this position.
Interns must be available to attend our partnered school in Kissimmee as well as Step’s Foundation, Inc. programs, community events, and outreach activities to capture authentic photos, videos, and stories.
This is an internship designed to provide practical experience, mentorship, professional skill development, and opportunities to build a portfolio of real-world marketing work.
