Job Title: Bilingual Spanish-English – Communication Role – Entry Level / On-Demand (Orange County, FL)
Location: Orange County, FL (In-person + remote)
Job Type: Independent Contractor (1099), On-Demand / Per Assignment
Pay: $35.00 – $45.00 per hour (based on client feedback and service quality)
Job Description
No experience needed. We train you from zero.
This is a communication role – you will help Spanish-speaking clients communicate with English-speaking officials in immigration, court, and medical settings. You talk, you listen, you interpret. That's it.
We teach you everything: consecutive interpretation, immigration protocols, court procedures, medical terminology, and how to use Zoom like a pro.
What you'll do:
- Interpret between Spanish and English in:
- Immigration: In-person at the USCIS office in Orlando (asylum, residency, citizenship interviews)
- Legal: Remote via Zoom (deportation defense, bond hearings)
- Medical: In-person or via Zoom (patient consultations, Workers' Comp, I-693 immigration medical exams)
- Follow protocols we train you on
- Stay neutral, professional, and confidential
This is NOT a full-time job. You work per case, when you want.
Work will be a mix of remote (via Zoom) and in-person assignments throughout Orange County. You must be available for both.
What we need from you:
- Natural bilingual – you grew up speaking Spanish and English at home
- Reliable – if you say YES to a case, you show up. No excuses.
- Transportation – reliable car for in-person assignments at the USCIS Orlando office and other locations in Orange County
- Computer with Zoom + stable internet – for remote work
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. as an independent contractor
- No experience needed – we teach everything
How you earn MORE ($45/hour instead of $35):
Your pay increases based on client feedback. After each assignment, we call the client (the person you helped) and evaluate your performance. The better you are, the more you earn – permanently.
What we measure (and what clients love):
CriteriaWhat it meansPunctualityYou arrive early (in-person) 30 minutes before (counted as part of your payment) or log in 5-10 min before (Zoom). Never late.Professional appearanceClean, well-groomed, appropriate attire. First impression matters.Friendliness & warmthYou make the client feel comfortable, not nervous. A smile goes a long way.Confidence & calmnessYou project security – the client feels safe with you. No nervous energy.Active listeningYou really hear what the client says – you don't miss details.Clarity & accuracyYou interpret clearly. No mumbling, no guessing.NeutralityYou never take sides. You interpret exactly what is said, nothing more, nothing less.PatienceYou give clients time to speak. You don't rush them.Problem-solving orientationIf something is unclear, you politely ask for clarification – you don't assume.Client engagementYou make eye contact, you nod, you show you're present. Not distracted.AdaptabilityYou handle different accents, different speeds, different personalities.RespectfulnessYou treat everyone with dignity – clients, officials, doctors.Follow-throughYou complete the assignment fully. No leaving early, no rushing out.Professional demeanorNo phone use, no side conversations, no personal opinions.Post-assignment courtesyYou thank the client and leave a positive final impression.Memory & retentionYou remember key details from earlier in the conversation – you don't ask the client to repeat things they already said.Voice projectionYou speak clearly, you vocalize your words and pace and at the right volume – not too loud, not too soft.Cultural sensitivityYou understand cultural nuances and handle them professionally without bias.
How it works:
- You start at $35/hour.
- After each assignment, we call the client and get feedback on these points.
- If you consistently score high, your rate goes up to $45/hour.
- If you keep delivering excellence, you stay at $45 and get priority access to more assignments.
- If you slip, your rate can adjust down – but we give you feedback so you can improve.
We reward performance, not resumes. You control your paycheck.
This role is designed for people who are starting fresh. It's not a fit for everyone, and that's okay. We're looking for candidates who want to learn from the ground up and grow with us. If you already have extensive experience in interpreting, you may find this role too basic – we're focused on training new talent.
How it works:
- You send us an email with a brief intro and your general availability
- We have a quick phone call to hear you speak both languages
- If selected, we train you (free)
- When we have a case, we notify you. You say YES or NO.
- If YES, you sign a simple service agreement for that case, show up, interpret, get paid
- If NO, no problem – we move to the next person
- After each assignment, we collect client feedback – your rate adjusts based on performance
You are in control of your schedule AND your earning potential.
