Full Job Description

NYSCO Products is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized AP/AR Clerk to support our accounting department. This position requires strong computer skills, accuracy, and the ability to work with accounting software, Excel spreadsheets, large files, and high volumes of financial data.

The ideal candidate will be comfortable learning and working in different software systems, managing multiple priorities, and communicating with vendors, customers, and internal departments. This position is well suited for someone who takes ownership of their work, follows through on outstanding items, and can identify and research discrepancies.

Key Responsibilities

Review, code, and enter vendor invoices accurately and promptly.
Match invoices to purchase orders, receiving documents, and approvals.
Research and resolve invoice and payment discrepancies.
Respond to vendor inquiries and reconcile vendor statements.
Prepare and send customer invoices.
Apply customer payments and maintain accurate accounts receivable records.
Monitor outstanding receivables and follow up on past-due balances.
Work with large spreadsheets, reports, data files, and supporting documentation.
Review financial data for accuracy, completeness, and inconsistencies.
Import, export, organize, and maintain information within accounting and other software systems.
Maintain well-organized digital and physical accounting records.
Communicate with other departments to obtain approvals, documentation, and missing information.
Assist with AP and AR aging reports and basic month-end accounting activities.
Provide general accounting and administrative support as needed.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, finance, or a related field required.
One to three years of AP, AR, bookkeeping, data processing, or related office experience preferred.
Strong PC and general computer skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including sorting, filtering, formatting, and working with large spreadsheets.
Experience using accounting, ERP, or other business software.
Ability to learn new software and processes quickly.
Comfortable working with large files and high volumes of financial data.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
Excellent organizational, time-management, and follow-up skills.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Dependable, professional, and able to handle confidential information.
Sage 100 experience is a plus.
