Overview
We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Lead Line Cook to join our dynamic culinary team. In this pivotal role, you will oversee daily kitchen operations, ensure the highest standards of food quality and safety, and inspire your team to deliver exceptional dining experiences. Your culinary expertise and leadership will drive the success of our kitchen, creating memorable meals that delight our guests and uphold our reputation for excellence. This position offers an exciting opportunity to showcase your culinary skills in a fast-paced, fine dining environment while mentoring junior staff and maintaining a vibrant open kitchen atmosphere. Pay is an hourly base plus tip pool, as we are in a full staff tip pool. Our food is scratch made, our hospitality is top tier in Lockhart, and our team are extremely important to us.

Duties

Lead and coordinate all aspects of food preparation, ensuring dishes meet quality standards and presentation expectations.
Supervise kitchen staff during service, providing guidance on cooking techniques, food handling, and safety protocols.
Develop and refine menu items in collaboration with the culinary team, incorporating seasonal ingredients and innovative ideas.
Oversee food safety practices, including proper storage, sanitation, and adherence to health regulations.
Manage inventory levels, order supplies, and monitor stock rotation to minimize waste and control costs.
Train new team members on kitchen procedures, knife skills, and food industry best practices.
Support catering events and special functions by preparing large quantities of high-quality meals efficiently.

Qualifications

Proven experience in food preparation within a restaurant or fine dining setting with strong culinary skills.
Extensive knowledge of food safety standards, food handling procedures, and sanitation practices.
Demonstrated leadership ability to manage a team in a fast-paced environment.
Skilled in cooking techniques across various cuisines.
Ability to read, understand, & execute a recipe
Strong knife skills and familiarity with culinary tools essential for efficient food prep.
Excellent communication skills with a passion for delivering outstanding food service experiences.
