Full Job Description

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for a highly organized, detail-oriented Operations Manager to oversee the day-to-day execution of national and long-distance moving operations.

This is not a desk-only operations role. You’ll be responsible for connecting the dots between customers, drivers, crews, dispatch, transportation, compliance, claims, technology, and financial administration to make sure every move is executed safely, efficiently, and with an exceptional customer experience.

The ideal candidate is a problem solver, process person, and operational quarterback who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can keep multiple moving pieces organized without dropping the ball.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Coordinate and oversee national and interstate moving operations from origin through destination
Partner with drivers, crews, vendors, and internal teams to keep moves on schedule
Monitor move status, capacity, transportation needs, delays, and operational issues
Coordinate travel, lodging, transportation, and expenses associated with long-distance moves
Identify operational risks before they become customer problems
Travel as needed to support operations, customers, crews, and business needs

Fleet & Regulatory Compliance

Maintain familiarity with FMCSA regulations and interstate transportation requirements
Work with Electronic Logging Devices (ELDs) and electronic driver logs
Help ensure drivers and operations remain compliant with applicable DOT/FMCSA requirements
Maintain accurate operational records and documentation
Partner with leadership to identify and correct compliance gaps

Customer Experience & Claims

Serve as an escalation point for complex customer situations
Help resolve service issues quickly, professionally, and fairly
Manage and coordinate moving claims, damages, documentation, and resolution processes
Partner with customers and internal teams to investigate issues and determine appropriate next steps
Maintain a customer-first mindset while balancing operational and financial considerations

Technology & Administration

Utilize CRM software to track customers, moves, issues, and operational activity
Work extensively within Google Workspace, including Sheets, Docs, Gmail, Drive, and Calendar
Maintain accurate operational reports and documentation
Track travel expenses, receipts, reimbursements, and operational spending
Identify opportunities to improve systems, workflows, communication, and efficiency
Maintain organized records so information is easy to find when it matters

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

You are:

Extremely organized and detail-oriented
Comfortable managing multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously
A strong communicator who can work with customers, drivers, crews, leadership, and vendors
Calm under pressure and capable of making sound decisions when things go sideways
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment
A natural problem solver who looks for solutions rather than excuses
Comfortable with technology and able to learn new systems quickly
Willing and able to travel as needed

Preferred Experience:

3+ years of experience in moving, logistics, transportation, fleet, or operations
Experience with moving
Working knowledge of FMCSA/DOT regulations
Experience managing claims or customer escalations
Experience with CRM systems
Strong Google Workspace/Google Sheets skills
Experience managing travel arrangements and expense reporting
Experience working directly with drivers and field operations
