NDTI seeks a highly organized and detail-oriented Shipping & Receiving Specialist to support Receiving, Shipping, and Inventory operations at NAS Point Mugu, CA.
The primary responsibilities will involve efficient material flow through our shipping and receiving area and packing and processing shipments and arranging transportation with freight forwarders. This position plays a critical role in the supply chain by ensuring that all materials and parts are received accurately, stored properly, transported safely, and delivered efficiently to the appropriate locations.
The ideal candidate will understand inventory control processes, logistics coordination, and material handling best practices. They will work closely with Procurement, Production, Quality, and Logistics to ensure seamless material flow and timely support to meet operational demands. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and proficiency with inventory management software are essential for this role.
Responsibilities
Receive, inspect, and document incoming shipments, verifying accuracy against purchase orders, certificates of conformance, and packing lists.
Accurately document and log all incoming and outgoing shipments in our system.
Execute receiving workflows emphasizing accuracy, traceability, and compliance.
Implement and maintain ERP receiving records to ensure end-to-end traceability.
Communicate effectively with internal customers and suppliers to resolve any inspection discrepancies or issues related to receiving operations.
Partner with supply chain, quality, and production teams to adhere to processes for discrepancy resolution and material routing.
Execute shipping workflows to ship parts to our customers, to outsource processors, and/or to other locations.
Prepare, package, and label outgoing shipments according to customer, carrier, and internal needs/requirements. Determine shipping method for materials, using knowledge of shipping procedures.
Prepare outbound shipments with accurate documentation and packaging in compliance with established standards.
Maintain strict compliance with safety protocols and standard packaging/shipping standards, package materials, ensuring proper labeling per MIL-STD-129.
Support continuous improvement efforts to streamline processes site-wide, enhancing efficiency and effectiveness in the shipping and receiving domain
Support safety standards in all warehouse and dock operations. Perform general housekeeping, safety, and 5S practices in the work area, ensuring a clean, organized and safe environment.
Operate forklifts, pallet-jacks and other material-handling equipment as necessary for the movement, conveyance, or hoisting of shipments as needed
Monitor packaging materials and submit order requests for replenishment.
Ensure accurate classification and handling of hazardous materials, complete required certifications and documentation.
Ability to lift and or move 50 pounds repeatedly.
Perform other duties withing the shipping and receiving domain as assigned.
Due to customer requirements, U.S Citizenship is required.
Active or ability to obtain and maintain a DoD SECRET security clearance.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
3 years of shipping/receiving experience in a manufacturing or warehouse operations.
Proficiency in using computers and ERP systems for data entry and document management.
Basic knowledge of MS Office suite (Outlook, Word and Excel) and Adobe Acrobat
A proactive attitude towards problem-solving and teamwork.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with internal teams and external partners.
Salary: the expected pay range for this position is $59,612 to $87,360 but is subject to change.
