Full Job Description

CMS Construction is seeking a Quality Control Manager to join our team! You will oversee project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and implementation. Please only apply for this position if you have a minimum of 5 years’ experience as a QC Manager on federal projects over $4M.

Work Locations:

Out-of-town travel may be required on projects located at but not limited to Naval Base Ventura County and Military Ocean Terminal Concord. Travel expenses covered by CMS include housing, flights, and fuel.
Other locations may include but are not limited to: Southern California, Northern California.

4/10 or 5/8 schedule, dependent on job location. $110,000 - $132,000 salary depending on qualifications and experience.

Compensation:

$110,000 - $132,000 yearly

Responsibilities:

Lead in implementing the three phases of Quality Control: Preparatory, Initial, and Follow-up.
Control the daily technical and administrative functions of the USACE RMS/QSC system.
Coordinate third-party testing agents as outlined in the quality control plan.
Preparing, implementing, and managing the Quality Control plan for each job.
Preparing and completing daily Quality Control reports.
Ensuring all Quality Control (QC) activities occur in a timely fashion in accordance with the project's schedule.
Manage project close-out/Red Zone to ensure completion before project completion.
Ability to coordinate, document, and enforce safety and health on various construction site projects.

Qualifications:

Certificate in the successful completion of the Construction Quality Management for Contractors (CQM-C) course.
An undergraduate degree in architecture, engineering, or construction management is preferred.
5 plus years of construction experience, a minimum of 3-5 years in a CQCM role.
Experience in large-scale construction management or construction trade with increasing levels of responsibility.
Federal government construction experience (Air Force, Corps of Engineers, and NAVFAC) a plus
Identify and resolve problems in a timely manner; gather and analyze information skillfully; develop alternative solutions; work well in group problem-solving situations; use reason when dealing with emotional topics.
Write clearly and informatively; edit work for spelling and grammar; vary writing style to meet needs; present numerical data effectively; able to read and interpret written information.
Manage difficult customer situations; responds promptly to customer needs; solicits customer feedback to improve service; responds to requests for service and assistance; meets commitments.
Speak clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations, listens, and gets clarification, and responds well to questions.
Proficient computer experience including Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook, Procore, and Microsoft project scheduling, RMS 3.0 (USACE contracts) required.
Excellent communication skills and ability to work well with others.
Must pass pre-employment drug test/physical/background check.
Maintain a clean record to ensure GOV. badging/background checks.
