CDTi is looking for a Supply Chain Specialist, this position supports day-to-day supply chain, warehouse, and production material needs, including receiving, shipping, parts inspection and packaging, inspection reports, material records, inventory control, and stock replenishment to support production.
This is primarily a dedicated supply chain role with responsibilities in vendor management, supplier communication, quotes, purchase order support, lead-time follow-up, delivery or quality issue resolution, and orders for direct and indirect production materials. The employee may occasionally provide backup support for customer service and production during peak workload periods, staffing shortages, or business needs. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, communicative, detail-oriented, flexible, relationship-focused, and motivated to grow within a supply chain or operations career path.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Essential:
- Prepare, package, and ship customer orders accurately and on schedule.
- Prepare required domestic and export shipping documents, including customer, carrier, and customs-related paperwork.
- Receive incoming materials, verify quantities, inspect parts as required, and ensure materials are properly labeled, stored, and documented.
- Generate inspection reports and maintain accurate records for received, inspected, packaged, and shipped materials.
- Perform basic technical support tasks as assigned, including running XRF analysis, documenting results, and communicating findings to appropriate internal teams.
- Assist with creating, maintaining, organizing, and documenting XRF standards to support accurate material analysis and quality-related activities.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate replenishment to ensure sufficient stock is maintained for production and operational needs.
- Place purchase orders for direct and indirect production materials as directed and follow up with vendors on order confirmations, pricing, lead times, delivery status, and open order issues.
- Request vendor quotes, compare pricing and availability, and communicate information to management to support purchasing decisions.
- Maintain vendor communication on material availability, shipment timing, backorders, substitutions, minimum order quantities, and delivery concerns.
- Support vendor performance tracking by documenting late deliveries, quality concerns, pricing discrepancies, and recurring supply issues for review with management.
- Build and maintain positive vendor relationships through timely communication, respectful follow-up, accurate information sharing, and professional issue resolution.
- Communicate with vendors, carriers, and internal departments to resolve receiving, shipping, quality, documentation, invoice, and material availability issues.
- Provide occasional backup support for customer service functions during peak workload periods, staffing shortages, or business needs, including assisting with customer communication, order updates, shipping status, and related documentation.
- Provide occasional production assistance during high peak times, staffing shortages, or urgent operational needs, while maintaining supply chain responsibilities as the primary focus of the position.
- Maintain organized warehouse and material storage areas to support inventory accuracy, safety, and efficient material flow.
- Support hazardous waste management activities, including proper labeling, storage, documentation, accumulation area housekeeping, and coordination of hazardous waste handling in accordance with company procedures.
- Assist with maintaining regulatory compliance for the CUPA hazardous waste program, including supporting inspections, recordkeeping, corrective actions, and required documentation as directed.
- Ensure security of inventory and warehouse organization.
- Updates shipping procedures and inventory continually during the month.
- Determines month-end and year-end FGI inventory, prepares and mails annual updates of all NAFTA certificates for customers outside the U.S.
- Assisting with the claim process for material damaged by carriers.
Other:
- Coordinates shipments of scrap for PGM reclaim, ships WPC orders and other non-production items using Fed EX, UPS, or truck.
- Completes EPA TCSA, FDA, or Department of Agriculture documents as required for imports.
- Closes temporary import bonds for customs and Border Patrol as required.
- Maintains customer sales orders and shipping documents and makes them available to auditors as necessary.
- File documents regularly to keep them organized.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Skills & Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in supply chain, materials coordination, shipping/receiving, purchasing support, inventory control, customer service, or a similar role; and/or a college degree in supply chain, business, operations, logistics, or a related field.
- Ability to work independently, problem solve and use sound judgement.
- Strong organization skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, maintain accurate records, and follow through on open items.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively with vendors, carriers, production, quality, and internal team members.
- Vendor relationship management skills, including the ability to communicate professionally, follow up consistently, resolve issues, and support long-term supplier partnerships.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Ability and willingness to learn quickly, take ownership of assigned responsibilities, and grow into broader supply chain and operations responsibilities over time.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Mostly Excel) required.
- Ability to follow technical procedures and maintain accurate records related to XRF analysis, XRF standards, hazardous waste documentation, and regulatory compliance activities.
Education:
- High school diploma or General Education Development (GED) required; college degree or coursework in supply chain, business, operations, logistics, or a related field preferred.
- Certification/license in Forklift operation
