Lead Mitigation Technician
Harrisburg, PA Area
Direct Hire | Full-Time | Year-Round Work
Pay: $28-$32/hour based on experience
Full Benefits + Bonus Opportunities + Additional On-Call Compensation
We are hiring an experienced Lead Mitigation Technician for a full-time, year-round opportunity with an established disaster/mitigation/restoration company.
This is not an entry-level Mitigation Technician position.
We are looking for someone with strong hands-on restoration experience who can independently manage multiple mitigation projects, lead crews in the field, make decisions onsite, communicate with customers, and still jump in and perform the work alongside the team.
This role is similar in some ways to a Mitigation Manager position, but on a smaller scale and with significantly more hands-on field work.
You may be managing anywhere from approximately 5 to 20 active projects at a time.
On some jobs, you may be working with just one additional technician. On larger losses, you may be responsible for directing crews of 5 to 20 temporary laborers or technicians.
You need to be comfortable taking ownership of the job from the moment you arrive onsite.
What You'll Be Doing
- Manage approximately 5-20 active mitigation projects at various stages
- Respond to residential and commercial water, fire, smoke, mold, sewage, biohazard, storm, and other property-damage losses
- Evaluate losses and determine the appropriate mitigation plan
- Perform water extraction and emergency stabilization
- Set up and monitor air movers, dehumidifiers, air filtration devices, and other drying equipment
- Take and document moisture readings
- Perform moisture mapping and monitor drying progress
- Adjust drying equipment and mitigation strategy as conditions change
- Install containment and negative-air systems
- Perform controlled demolition when required
- Remove damaged drywall, flooring, insulation, cabinetry, and other affected materials
- Perform cleaning, sanitizing, deodorization, and decontamination
- Assist with mold, sewage, fire, smoke, trauma, and biohazard remediation
- Direct technicians, helpers, and temporary laborers onsite
- Manage crews ranging from a small two-person team to larger crews of 5-20 workers
- Assign daily tasks and maintain production
- Make sure work is being performed safely and correctly
- Complete required paperwork and job documentation
- Photograph and document job progress
- Communicate with customers throughout the mitigation process
- Provide updates to management and project leadership
- Maintain restoration equipment, tools, and company vehicles
- Help train and develop less-experienced technicians
- Keep jobs organized, safe, clean, and moving toward completion

Who We're Looking For
We want someone who is experienced enough to take control of a mitigation loss without waiting for someone else to tell them every move.
Someone who can walk into a flooded building, determine what needs to happen, set the drying equipment, direct the crew, communicate with the customer, complete the paperwork, and keep multiple projects moving at the same time.
You still need to be willing to work with your hands.
This is not a desk-only management position.
You will be expected to lead from the front, work alongside your crew, and take ownership of the projects assigned to you.
If you have strong disaster restoration experience and are ready to step into a Lead Mitigation Technician position with competitive hourly pay, full benefits, bonuses, and significant additional earning opportunities, we want to talk to you.
