Description:

Customer Service Representative

Join our dedicated team at Canyonlands Healthcare as a Customer Service Representative, where you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient service and ensuring smooth daily operations at our healthcare centers. If you are personable, organized, and committed to providing a welcoming environment for patients and staff alike, we encourage you to apply.

Key Responsibilities:

Greet patients and visitors in a professional, friendly, and hospitable manner
Respond to patient inquiries and requests promptly and courteously
Perform clerical duties related to the day-to-day operations of the front office
Update and organize patient information in charts accurately and efficiently
Answer multi-line telephones in a professional manner, directing calls as appropriate
Assist with appointment scheduling and maintenance tasks using EPM or similar scheduling systems
Maintain a clean and organized front desk area to promote a welcoming environment
Collaborate with staff and healthcare providers to support operational needs

Skills and Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent required
Previous experience in a healthcare or customer service setting preferred
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
Proficiency in using electronic health records (EHR) systems and appointment scheduling software
Ability to maintain professionalism and composure in a fast-paced environment
Friendly, approachable demeanor with a focus on patient satisfaction
Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record keeping

Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:

Ability to perform each essential function duty satisfactorily with or without reasonable accommodation. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
High School Diploma or equivalency
Moderate computer skills required with emphasis on accuracy.
Ability to read, write and speak English.
Ability to meet, communicate and work well with patients. Ability to understand medical terminology. Ability to work with physicians, mid-level providers, clinical support staff, administrative staff and front office staff.
Ability to handle problem areas and issues and make decisions as required/appropriate. Ability to work independently with little supervision. Ability to work under stress. Must have good organizational skills.
Must be flexible and willing to work evening/overtime/weekends if required/requested.
Must maintain skills necessary to safely and efficiently operate the following equipment and machines used in the performance of the job: telephone, fax machine, photocopier, personal computer, and calculator.
Good interpersonal and human relations skills are required. Must possess skills to empathize and care for a variety of patients, including low-income and diverse cultures and treat everyone (internal and external customers) with respect and dignity.
Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times in all situations and follow the laws and intent of the most current HIPAA laws and regulations and Canyonlands’ security and privacy policies.

Preferred Qualifications:

Two (2) plus years of directly related experience.
Bi-lingual (English/Spanish/Navajo) language skills.
Knowledge of Microsoft programs with the ability to effectively communicate using Outlook.

Canyonlands requires all staff to be vaccinated for Flu, Hep B, MMR, Tdap, Covid-19 and Varicella.

New employees must be screened for Tuberculosis.
