Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise salon staff, including stylists and support team members, to ensure excellent service delivery and operational efficiency
- Manage daily salon operations, including scheduling, shift management, and inventory control to optimize productivity and customer satisfaction
- Provide personalized hair styling, cutting, coloring, and treatment services to clients, maintaining high standards of quality and professionalism
- Oversee retail sales efforts by promoting products, managing merchandising displays, and achieving sales targets through effective upselling techniques
- Handle client consultations to understand their needs, recommend suitable services and products, and ensure a positive experience from start to finish
- Maintain accurate records of appointments, sales transactions using POS systems, payroll processing, and bookkeeping tasks
- Implement employee training & development programs to enhance team skills, ensure compliance with safety standards, and foster a motivating work environment
Requirements
- Valid cosmetology or barbering license in accordance with state or local regulations
- Proven experience as a stylist with strong technical skills in cutting, coloring, styling, and treatments
- Previous management or supervisory experience within the retail or salon industry is highly preferred
- Excellent communication skills; bilingual or multilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse clientele
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage inventory, scheduling, and cash handling efficiently
- Knowledge of POS systems, retail math, merchandising techniques, and operational management practices
- Demonstrated leadership qualities with the ability to motivate staff and foster teamwork
- Basic math skills for pricing calculations, budgeting tasks, and sales analysis
- Customer service-oriented mindset with phone etiquette proficiency and organizational skills for multitasking in a fast-paced environment
