Atlantic Hearing is seeking two motivated 4th-Year Doctor of Audiology (AuD) Externs for the May 2027-May 2028 academic year. We have approved clinical trainers in both Ormond Beach and St. Augustine, Florida, and anticipate placing one extern at each location. This full-year, paid externship is designed for AuD students who want to strengthen their clinical skills through hands-on experience in a patient-centered private practice environment. Externs will work alongside experienced hearing healthcare professionals and gain meaningful experience across the patient journey, from diagnostic evaluation through treatment, fitting, counseling, and ongoing hearing care. For the right candidates, we view the externship as more than a one-year experience. Audiologist positions with Atlantic Hearing following graduation. Clinical Experience Comprehensive audiologic evaluations and diagnostic testing Hearing aid selection, fitting, verification, and programming Hearing aid troubleshooting and follow-up care Patient counseling and education Hearing loss treatment planning Ear impressions and hearing technology solutions Documentation and clinical recordkeeping Developing long-term patient care relationships Exposure to the day-to-day operations of a successful private audiology practice As each extern develops clinical competency and confidence, they will have opportunities to take greater ownership of patient care while continuing to receive appropriate supervision and mentorship from an approved clinical trainer.
