Full Job Description

POSITION OVERVIEW:
We are seeking a highly skilled and reliable Certified CNC Machinist to support precision machining operations in Santa Clarita, CA. This role is critical to manufacturing and repairing reciprocating compressor components while ensuring tight tolerances, quality standards, and production efficiency. The CNC Machinist will be responsible for full machine setup, operation, inspection, troubleshooting, and continuous process improvement in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Manual machining experience is a plus.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

Set up, adjust, and operate CNC vertical lathes and mills
Perform precision machining to tight tolerances based on engineering specifications
Read and interpret blueprints, work instructions, and technical documentation
Select cutting tools, indicate jaws, verify machine setup, and adjust offsets
Inspect finished components using micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, and precision measuring tools
Troubleshoot machining issues and optimize CNC programs as needed
Provide feedback on tooling, fixtures, and setup improvements to reduce scrap and cycle time
Collaborate with production supervisors and quality teams to improve efficiency, cost, safety, and quality
Maintain accurate documentation and production records
Perform manual machining tasks as required
Follow all safety guidelines and PPE requirements
Perform other duties as assigned

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Basic Qualifications

5–10+ years of experience setting up and operating CNC machines in a manufacturing environment
Strong knowledge of tooling setup, cutting tool selection, offset adjustments, and CNC troubleshooting
Proficiency reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings
Strong math skills for tolerances, dimensions, and machining calculations
Basic computer skills
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand/walk for extended periods
Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English

Preferred Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED
Certified CNC Machinist preferred
Experience machining reciprocating compressor components preferred
Oil & Gas industry experience a plus
Manual machining experience a plus
Flexibility to work overtime as production demands

Pay: $29.00 - $34.00 per hour
