Job Objective:
The Security Supervisor provides constant field assistance and communication to the Director of Security on the implementation of day-to-day planning, development, and operation of work activities of the department and its staff. Assists in the planning, development, administration, and management of the day-to-day operations of the Hospital Security Department and implement the Security Management Plan. Oversees investigations relative to security issues.
Duties and Responsibilities:

Participates in the development of both long- and short-range goals for the department consistent with the goals and objectives of the hospital.

Maintains implementation of security management plans and department policies and procedures.
- Provides supervision over subordinate supervisors, lead officers and officers.
-
Responsible for implementation of, and employee compliance with, hospital and department policies and procedures.
-
Integrates the service, administrative, and educational aspects of the department.
-
Oversees and participates in employee relations matters, which include staff selection, management, development, and performance review.
-
Participates in determining and maintaining adequate numbers of qualified employees to provide safe, effective, and efficient services in accordance with established standards.
-
Coordinates security services with other departments to maintain effective operations.
-
Determines appropriate actions during emergency situations, including providing on-site supervision, as appropriate.

Carries out safety and infection control procedures to ensure patient, staff, and visitor safety.

Oversees delivery of daily reports to upper management for review.

Assists in the production of employee identification badges.

Functions as a Security Supervisor, as needed.

Functions as a Lead Security Officer, as needed.

Education and Experience:
Education
- High School diploma or equivalent.
-
BA Degree preferred.
Experience
- Three years prior security/law enforcement experience.
- One year experience as Supervisor, Lead, etc.
Required Licensure and/or Certifications:

Possession of a valid California driver's license.
-
Current California Guard Card.
-
Valid First Aid and/or CPR card maintained at all times.
-
Certified Healthcare Security Officer (CHSO) designation from the International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety (IAHSS) within 30 days of hire/promotion.

Certified Advanced Healthcare Security Officer (CAHSO) designation from IAHSS within 60 days of hire/promotion.
-
Certified Healthcare Safety Security Supervisor (CHSSS designation from IAHSS within 90 days of hire/promotion.
-
Nonviolent Crisis Intervention 8- hour course within 90 days of hire/promotion and recertification annually.

Health Stream coursework within 60 days of hire/promotion on:
- Workplace Violence.

National Incident Management System (NIMS).

Emergency Management.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
