Job title: Printing Technician/Administrative Support
Position Compensation: $18.00/hr
Employment terms: Full Time – Non-Exempt
AM - 5 x 8 Monday - Fridays
Big Oil Co. is seeking a reliable, organized, and detail-oriented Printing Technician / Administrative Support professional to support production, packaging, and quality operations through label printing, printer maintenance, document management, and administrative coordination.
This position is responsible for producing accurate and compliant labels, maintaining printing equipment, managing label inventory, and supporting QA/QC initiatives. The role also assists with product sampling coordination, inventory system management, document control, retail ID creation, and internal research and development projects.
The ideal candidate possesses strong technical skills, exceptional attention to detail, excellent organizational abilities, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Duties and Responsibilities :Printing & Label Management
- Set up, operate, and maintain label printers, including Afinia, Zebra, and other industrial printing equipment.
- Print approved product labels according to production schedules while ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Verify label information, including product names, batch numbers, retail IDs, warnings, and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor print quality, label alignment, color consistency, and printer performance throughout production runs.
- Troubleshoot printer errors, software issues, and mechanical problems to minimize downtime.
- Maintain printing software, including Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Acrobat, and Bartender.
- Create, edit, and manage PDF files and label templates.
- Submit, create, and maintain Retail ID labels and associated records.
- Organize and maintain digital label files and printing documentation.
- Track label inventory levels and communicate supply needs to management.
- Maintain accurate printing logs and production records using Google Sheets and Google Docs.
- Coordinate daily with Packaging, QA/QC, Inventory, and Graphic Design teams to ensure production needs are met.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of printing equipment and workspaces.
Administrative Support
- Assist QA/QC personnel with product sampling, including physical product sampling and coordination and documentation with the analytical testing labs at the time of sampling.
- Create and maintain packaging records within company inventory management systems.
- Support internal research and development projects through creating QC units for QC team
- Maintain accurate electronic and physical records related to production and quality activities.
- Assist with document control, filing, and record retention processes.
- Support inventory tracking and reconciliation activities.
- Ensure all documentation is completed accurately and submitted on time.
Compliance & Quality
- Follow all company policies, procedures, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
- Ensure printed materials meet all quality and compliance requirements.
- Maintain confidentiality of company information, products, and processes.
- Support audits and documentation reviews as required.
- Identify and communicate quality concerns or process improvement opportunities.
Supervision received: Lead Packaging Supervisor, QA/QC MAnager and QA/QC Technician
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Must successfully pass all required background screenings for employment within the California cannabis industry following a conditional offer of employment.
- Proficiency with Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Acrobat/Reader, and Bartender software.
- Proficiency with Google Sheets, Google Docs, and Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Preferred skills & knowledge:
- Experience in cannabis manufacturing, packaging, or regulated production environments.
- Experience working in a laboratory, quality assurance, quality control, or GMP-regulated environment.
- Experience operating and maintaining label printers.
- Experience with inventory management systems and ERP software.
- Knowledge of cannabis packaging regulations and compliance requirements.
- Experience supporting administrative and document control functions.
Physical Requirements:
